  • Thank you for the demo!

I enjoyed the minimalistic aesthetics and sounds very much. Stylish.

However, at the moment the game is way too hard for me to enjoy and made me ragequit quite fast!

That said, I feel that people who love games of this genre prefer them tough as nails and I am just a wussy casual gamer myself.

Setting the difficulty just right is a difficult decision!

  • Wow, love everything about this!

  • Can't decide what style I like more, clean and high resolution lines or fuzzy, low resolution ones. I made a video to compare the two

For what it's worth, IMO the high resolution lines look a lot better. The visuals really pop.

  • Either way I'm not too fussed really, just promised myself I'd release a game this year and Orbit development is still quite slow, Brute is intentionally minimalist and constrained so that I can at least release this initial version of the game and be happy

K, sounds pretty familiar! I feel it is better to know your limitations and just release something to clear the table. It is easy to get stuck on prototyping.

    Good luck.

  • Wow! Man, I always love your stuff so much. You have a strong style going on. What platform are you targeting this time?

  • Okay, trying Cocoon.io and Cordova now. It seems I'm a bit out of the loop.

  • Is Game Center broken again when using Canvas+ and the Cloud compiler 2.2?

  • Hey I remember playing the original game! Loved it. Glad to see you are making a bigger game out of it, looks awesome.

  • Thanks for spotting that!

I've updated the art work to something more fitting to the game and the rest of my enemies. Kind of a blessing in disguise.

Wow! IMHO That's much better. Really dig your style, actually! Nice, clean and the colors are fantastic.

  • Thanks! Never played any of Vlambeer's games. I just checked out his/her/thems? work... I assume 'super crate boy' is what you are referring too. o_O dang I didn't even realize I was similar to it. Just downloaded to check it out. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy">

Nope, I was referring to their latest game called Nuclear Throne. In NT they have a playable character called Robot and it looks quite similar to your enemy design.

Edit: I don't think this a problem, just a funny little thing I noticed!

  • Awesome! The inspiration is a bit too obvious regarding some of the enemies (hey, I dig Vlambeer too!) but all in all this looks great! Can't wait to try the demo.

  • Man, looks super cool! The controls seem great and the level of polish (everything's so bouncy) is top notch. Can't wait to play this!
