  • Hello, I've created a stupid game which can be described as somekind of an interactive "youtube poop" generator.

The game plays videos in the background and the players can input commands to spawn various craps and effects on the foreground.

For the time being the videos have been inserted in the project as webm and mp4 files, but I'd prefer to let the players chose freely the videos they want by selecting links on youtube or dailymotion for example.

More than a video game, this project is somekind of a video player which allows to destroy the videos by spawning nonsensical sprites, sounds, etc...

So I'd like to know if there's some way to allow the player to copy youtube links, paste them in a text-box (or anything) ingame (not by inserting them in the project files or code) and then play the videos on repeat in the background to poop on them freely.

Yeah I know this project is stupid ... but even when you do crap you gotta do it right I guess ...

  • Hello, my name is Guillaume, I'm french and huh ... somewhat of an artist I guess ... I've studied art and cinema, directed a few short films and drawn cartoons.

I've been working as a game designer and 2D artist on video game projects with a dev friend of mine for quite some time now (almost 10 years) but unfortunately for various reasons (and because we are both losers) none of our projects really made it to it's final state.

Last year I got a bit tired of that so I tried construct 2 to make a few projects on my own aside from our main never ending projects.

I almost instantly fell in love with construct and after a few crappy games made from templates modifications I soon managed to work on a few things made from blank sheets.

Can't help but feel that the node-webkit still requires attention and that one day, such a program should also exist for 3D stuff ... but as it is now, it's by far the best user friendly game engine I know (and believe me I've tried a whole lot).

    Thank you Scirra
