  • I actually prefer the old design <img src="smileys/smiley24.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

In the new one the grey text has to few (or is it little?) contrast with the background.

Next to that I don't like the accent colour, but that's just my personal taste.

I do like the layout though!

  • aridale you can allow specific sites to have access instead of all sites(*).

I decided to upgrade my addon so it works with the preview as well. Although the Access Control is working now for some reason it doesn't save the SESSIONID in a cookie. Strange part is that it does save the ID after an export.

Only answers I got from google was that it should work straight away. I also added the 'Access-Control-Allow-Credentials: true' header.

It's kind of driving me crazy, any clue what it could be?

  • Bringing a thread back from the grave here.

Searching the forums for something like this brought me here. I got the same issue that exporting takes quite some time and in most of the cases I just made changes in the event sheets.

I've turned off png recompression and minify script when I do an export for testing purposes but it still takes a couple of minutes.

So in the end I would still be pleased with a 'just export c2runtime' functionality.

p.s. reason I'm exporting for testing purposes is because I use AJAX which needs te be executed from my testserver.

  • yeah I figured my description might be confusing.

I'm graphic drivers are up to date (updated yesterday)

It's the C2 window which takes an odd shape, not the browser.

    Screenshot: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/11201219/ConstructRatioBug.jpg

In the screenshot you can see a part of my desktop at the right hand side. And the bottom of the C2 window is missing because it's outside of the screen.

Seems like it has nothing to do with the preview browser window.

I've got the window maximized, then I minimize it (to the taskbar) and when I maximize it again it's ratio/resolution is screwed up.

In the previous post I stated that minimizing and maximizing solved the problem. I meant to say that 'restore' and then maximize fix the problem (in windows press the middle top corner button twice)

hope this clarifies the problem :P

EDIT: made the screenshot link clickable

  • I don't think you should focus on this to much but just wanted to let you know.

I use a laptop with an external monitor attached to it. I edit my game (in C2) on the main display of the laptop and preview it on the external monitor. The main display has a resolution of: 1366x768 and the external monitor a resolution of: 1280x1024.

    Now what happens <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> :

It looks like C2 tries to shape to the ratio of the external monitor on the main display. Resulting in an empty space at the right of the screen and the bottom of the C2 being out of the displays height.

None of the other windows does this so I figure it's something in the C2 code.

It's easy to fix by first minimizing and then maximizing the window.

Like I said it's not a big issue but it would be nice if you fix it when you're bored or something <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Sorry for the slow repsonse. We're now running the game in IE9 without issues. Firefox gave choppy performance.

I'll file a report at google about this problem.

    Thanks for helping me out.

  • I've been developing a game which is going to be on something like a fair.

After 2 minutes of inactivity the game should reset to show the starting screen, which welcomes new players.

In order to do the reset I've used the Reload action from the Browser plugin. Though it seems that on reloading the page it does not clear the memory of the previous game session. Resulting in 4GB of RAM being used.

I also tried opening a new window/tab and closing the current window/tab but that gave other problems (security issues).

What can I do about this?

    Due to a NDA I can't provide a capx.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • ah nice, good to know :)

Maybe JesseJoh's version should be removed from the 'C2 Plugins and Behaviors List' threat. Or get the text "deprecated"

  • aaronparsons: I thought the same but Pode posted this link somewhere along the threat: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1412774/pode_html_pack(from_JJ).0.2.zip

  • <img src="smileys/smiley3.gif" border="0" align="middle"> didn't think anybody would bother with this plugin!

In that case here's a version which works with r85 as well:

    Download r85 compatible

    About your question Ugotsta:

The focus changes on clicking on the canvas and on clicking on another form element. As well does it change when pressing TAB to go to a next form field.

Only thing not working is pressing ESC, this because the field doesn't lose focus (not in Firefox at least). Adding this feature would be outside of the scope of this plugin. All it does is trigger conditions on focus lost and gain. Not on how one can change the focus.

    Hope that helped / clarified.

  • Woah! I've been struggling with framerates and HTML5 on Android but this looks amazing!

but for some reason I can't download it on my HTC Desire Z, tells me it's not compatible.

  • While I was making a registration form in construct I couldn't find an easy way to validate a field on the run. So extended the existing textbox plugin with the conditions:

    • On focus lost
    • On focus gain

Focus lost gets triggered when the object was focussed and another object gets the focus.

Focus gain is the other way around. When any other object was focussed and the given object gets the focus.

    Download

    Hope you enjoy!
