  • We are in the process of phasing out C2, and will at some point retire it. So if long term support and bug fixes is important to you, you probably shouldn't buy it. If you're only going to use it for a short time (<2 years), C3 actually works out cheaper or the same.

C2 Will it become open source? Can you answer this or have you thought about that?

    Thanks Kiatric.

  • Thanks, I did that but I do not solve anything.

  • Try Construct 3

  • It depends on what exactly you are looking to do in the end.

Does Construct 2 works ? Yes it does.

Is Construct 3 better than Construct 2 ? On many levels, yes it is.

Can you learn game making with Construct 2 ? Yes you can. With C3 as well.

What do you want to do with those game engines ?

Make games for you to play and have fun, at your rythm ?

Construct 2 sounds like a good fit.

You want to learn to use the engines and ultimately make commercial use of your work ? Construct 2 can help you in the learning process, and when you are serious about going commercial, you can switch to Construct 3.

It all depends on what really you're after.

The engine works and made its proof over the years.

    Where do YOU stand ?

    I found this comment curious.

Why can not you continue with C2 to make your work commercial? Why do you think you should change to C3 to make the work commercial? That is, sell your videogame.

I'm curious about that, am I missing something important?

I am doing my videogame with commercial intention and I do not plan to change to C3, I do not accept the rental model, I will simply change the engine in the future, when I finish my current project in C2.

  • There is no bugs report template.

Hello, in this example I create a file with the information of the objects in JSON and then I destroy them.

Later (1 second later) I upload the information again and create the objects again with the information generated in JSON.

Then there is the problem that one of the sprite objects is not being correctly located in its Z variable.

I mean, the object save its information when it was located in the background but when the object is generated again with that information, its Z variable is not correct. Before it was at the bottom and now appears in front.

In this capture you can see that the object is located in the background. Your information is generated in JSON, your information is saved and the object is destroyed.

In this capture the object has been generated again but its Z information is not correct. Your Z information is different from when this information was generated in JSON.

  • Please, can anyone try this? It will not take more than 10 seconds.

Is it a bug or does it just happen to me?

  • I suppose it is necessary to fill in a bug report

  • Hello, I have C2 (ver 266 64b) maximized, when I minimize it and send it to the windows taskbar and then I maximize it again, then C2 appears minimized, but its status was maximized.

What happens? Does someone else have this?

In this video you can see how (with the window maximized) I first minimize the window and send it to the taskbar.

Then I maximize it but now it appears minimized.

  • I adapted the game also for chrome and now I can:

    - Open two tabs in chrome

    - Open an instance of NWjs and a tab in chrome (select as browser for preview Chrome / nwjs, then change it and press again preview).

  • Well, it's an opportunity to open my C2 projects in C3.

I do not intend to participate in the global game jam, so can I open my C2 projects in C3 to test its operation and possible adaptation errors to C3?
