  • Kickass!

  • ...interesting, I'll have a go at implementing this tonight, fingers crossed!

Due to the sound issues, I'm reluctantly using AppMobi at the moment, but don't like the way they lock me into releasing apps as 3.4.0. I can't use my own signing keys either, which is a pain.

Also, with PhoneGap I can decompile the apk and monkey around with the manifest file (and other files) then recompile with no problems. Can't seem to do the same with AppMobi.

  • Yup, you can retrigger fade in at any time, so trigger it again .just before you set visible

  • Perhaps use the bullet behaviour instead and have your sprite spawn a mirror image sprite at a certain x co-ord, then destroy the original sprite. Repeat.

  • Wink - thanks for the review too!

  • Wink - thanks for that!! <img src="smileys/smiley20.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

smitchell I used phonegap in the end. I don't know what I've done in the last three days, but my game no longer works in appmobi and phonegap freezes if it has any sound files embedded. All the sound has been stripped out.

Next step is to get that darn sound working again :-)

Generating the keystore and pairing the certificates was a right pain for me, but sorted it after an hour or two...

  • First game all wrapped up and on the android market!! Version 1; alas no sound yet (can't get it working now after initial success). Check it out - Jazzlebags AssGass.

Ads not working yet either... but soon

  • Hi All,

I've been using this kickass piece of software for around a month now. Very nice and easy to use. Close to finalising my first game now, hoping to add it to the Android Market within the week!!

  • Wink Glad to see this is proving useful!!

  • First few times I created the .apk with appmobi I also had a blank screen after the loading screen. I removed the appmobi script from my html file and that got it working.

I prefer the simplicity of phonegap, but as I can't get sound to work with phonegap I resorted to appmobi.

I'm not very happy with appmobi showing my app as version 3.4.0 either, so I'm going to unpack both my phonegap and appmobi .apks this weekend to see how different they are, maybe I can use elements of each.

  • You don't need the plugin. All you need to do is click on the touch icon in your projects folder on the right hand side. In the poperties box on the lhs, just change mouse input from 'no' to 'yes'.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Downloaded appmobi last night as I'm frustrated with phonegap not being able to run sound. Tonight I used it to package up my game for Android and it works well - with sound!!!! Takes maybe 3-5 seconds longer than the phonegap apk to initiate on my Galaxy S2, but once it's up and running it seems to work a bit better. Phonegap wasn't registering some of my touches every now and again if a level had a lot of events; appmobi seems to be picking up all touch inputs.
