Now you even dare to be rude against quazi <img src="smileys/smiley7.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> ? I'm not really a long time in the forum, but as far as I know, quazi is one of the cleverest users here around, so your post sounds downright ridiculous.

you just mind your business ,you probably dont know anyone here anyway, what are you looking for browny points or something? ive already spoken to the mods and the owner, so get off the bandwagon!

  • nobrowser2, what's the problem? Every single feature in Construct Classic and Construct 2 are implemented exclusively through the plugin SDK, even the built in stuff. Without plugins neither of the Constructs does anything at all. So it's totally unreasonable to be against using plugins, since it is impossible to do anything useful without them.

but these are supposed to be basic functions of an application, its only input

  • What's wrong with a plugin? Construct has a keyboard object by nature. Mostly it's enough for the most common things.

So no, you don't need extra plugins to use keyboard functions. Just for that few extra symbols. And if construct isn't adapted to your needs, feel free to use another software. But don't complain about things, you don't even fully tested.

Sorry, but I just don't like it, when ppl don't appreciate good work...

you sound like too much of a fanboy to accept criticism of a reasonable expectation!

  • I know how to do this but refrain from telling you cause of the stupid way your behaving. it's new years day and getting no responses in 20 minutes pisses you off? k

Well for someone who doesn't know how to use a capital letter after a full stop i dont think i will be first in line for your input anyway!

  • I don't think there's a way to differentiate between two keyboards on one computer, so if you use the keyboard, you'll have to map to different keys for player 1 and 2, like wasd for directions for p1, arrow keys for p2.

As for controllers, I haven't used them, but you can try the xbox 360 controller object, the input system plugin or joytokey (google it).

    hi arima

i would like to use the same keyboard for the 2 instructions, 1 set of keys for the 8 directional and another set of keys for the rotation, although i would much prefer to use a joypad with the 2 analogs for the function, if i could do this then that would be more ideal

No, in other words try to reformulate your question so it makes sense and can get answered.

Putting words one after the other without structure doesn't make it for good understanding of what you're meaning.

Also all-caps messages are really tedious and will cause you a lot of troubles very soon. And duplicating topics is not a good idea either.

And what about jamesX's list of tutorials ?

What about the Construct Classic wiki and its article about the mouse and keyboard built-in plugin ?

Now for your answer, use the controller object/built-in plugin to "intercept" the input of your user, and then apply your expected behavior as actions.

nobrowser2 : And I also strongly advise you to lay low on the insults (seen in other posts of yours) it won't be tolerated very long.

Try to learn to use the software before mindlessly criticizing it.

So far you look like the first 2012's troll.

It made perfect sense, it could not have been put any more basic!

  • what happened to my post yesterday?

  • Personaly i think its a pile of sh*t, you cant even incorporate simple commands, all i wanna do is move a sprite 360 and rotate 360 on a second controller and there's no script for it !

  • HELP I WANNA GET THE GAME CONTROLS SCRIPT FOR ROBOTRON, I WANNA MOVE 8 DIRECTIONS (WHICH I CAN DO) AND ROTATE 360 (WHICH I CAN DO ) BUT<font size="3">6</font> I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO USE SEPARATE CONTROLS FOR THE 2 EVENTS!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • you need plugins just to use keyboard functions? what a pile of sh*t, and they say gamemaker's crap!

  • 6/ Have you followed the basics tutorials for Construct-classic ?

of course i have, ive made a blaster!

  • 5/ Your question makes little to no sense.

in other words you dont know the answer!
