Hey guys, I'm in the final weeks of development for Super Ubie Land and I am needing testers to test the heck out of this game so we can fix bugs. If you are willing to test the game out for me please let me know.

Need testers for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

I need documents writing all of the bugs not your personal game design choices

Need screenshots of bugs and also need written documentation on how and where specific bugs occurred.

Please let me know if you are interested

    Quick question:

on the mac how come I keep getting this:

  • Thanks guys!

At the moment, I plan to work on this game solo. I may get help with the cutscene art so I can focus on the in game sprites and animations and game design.

  • Set in the comic-like streets of Vernon City, ?TN? is a 2D beat-em-up adventure that pits Team Notion ? Drew, Sandy and Panda ? against the evil NeNe, a zombie alien bent on world conquest! With a colorful cast of characters and hand drawn graphics, ?TN? is planned to be an action packed blast from the past with twists at every turn.

This is a game I am working on immediately after Super Ubie Land and I am aiming for a late 2014/early 2015 release. I will be stepping up the animations and taking all the lessons I've learned from working on Ubie Land and applying them to this game. Hope you enjoy the early work below.

  • Ashley great to know :)

jayderyu I'm glad Nintendo contacted them. Great news for us all

zendorf Thank you :) I created the game at 1280 x 720. There isn't really any slow down at all. It pretty much runs at 60 frames all the time except for when I am recording gameplay then it drops drastically... sometimes making it hard to actually play the game because of collision problems.

Most of the sprites are exported at the size that I need them before bringing them into C2.

I plan to do a post mortem video where I talk about the challenges and things that I have learned. And will also create a video showing how i make the sprites and things like that.

If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

  • We were starting on a Unity build but I continued to finish the game in Construct 2. Now that we know how the game will be we are planning to port but I am hoping an exporter can come soon enough. We'll see...

  • What are all the real benefits of WebGL? Would that stop anyone from creating games if all of assets and effects are created as sprites?

  • About 5 days ago I wrote Nintendo again about the exporter. Dan Adelman has wrote me stating that he has forwarded Scirra's application. He stated that E3 may have derailed the process. But he has ensured me that things were going to go smoothly.

So I checked Scirra's twitter feed... and yay! They did contact them about the Web Framework.

So that makes me wonder... Ashley, do you plan on developing an exporter asap? Just wondering since I'm pretty much done with Super Ubie Land and will need to start on the port.

    *shameless plug*

  • Here is the final trailer for Super Ubie Land. This game has been a great learning experience. This is my first "actual" game besides the Up Up Ubi app I released a year ago. Construct 2 has allowed me to take my skills as an artist and turn it into a video game (which has always been a huge hobby of mine). Thanks Ashley and Tom for such a great product and I plan to continue creating with this tool.

Super Ubie Land has landed my indie game dev company (founded in 2012) a spot with Nintendo and I hope it'll take us even further. I know the animations may not be the best but I plan to improve on that on my future projects.

I have minor touch ups and I have to go through bug testing then release the game August 13th. I hope this thread encourages my fellow C2 developers to keep pushing and get a game done!
