  • Hello peoples.

Just a quick question, how do you destroy specific UID? Instead of destroying a object

    • Thanks, Xanco
  • Hello peoples.

I have 2 objects, one in-front and one behind. I want it so that when you click the in-front object, they'd both destroy. I tried doing this by having the behind object destroy on mouse overlap - thinking that when I click on the in-front object, the mouse overlap would destroy the behind one. But, when I had my mouse over it'd just destroy the behind object.

So now, I'm trying to use an instance variable to detect when the behind object isn't being overlapped by the in-front object, then have the mouse destroy it on overlap.

Do you know how to do this? Or just to make the mouse does not destroy the behind object, when the in-front object is still there.

    Thanks, Xanco

There is going to be more than just one of each object eventually

  • I think I had a brain fart... Thanks, I had another scroll to object.

  • Hello peoples.

I've got an object that moves left and right, it has the 'scroll to' behavior applied to it. But, whenever I play my game, it shoots of out of the camera's view... But the camera is still moving, just not as quickly as the object. Is there any way I can prevent this from happening?

    Thanks,

    Xanco

  • Hello peoples

When I preview my game, in Chrome, it looks like this:

    <img src="http://s21.postimg.org/jbudlovzb/chrome.jpg" border="0" />

And here's what it looks like when I export it using node-webkit:

    <img src="http://s7.postimg.org/5zab1joqj/web.jpg" border="0" />

Is there any way to prevent this from happening? I'm using Construct 2 effects to change the appearance of some of the things - however, they don't seem to be making any difference. And the light, the big yellow disk? That's made using a orange brush set to 30 opacity...

    I hope you can help,

    Xanco

The actual functionality works fine, it's just the appearance.

  • Hello peoples.

Should be a quick question. How do I store information locally for my android app? So that the user will not have to restart the game every time he loads it up?

    • Thanks
  • Hello peoples.

A quick question. I'm experimenting with a 'terminal game'. I want the game to compare what's in a text input box, but how do I get it so that Construct checks to see if what's in the input box contains a word.

    Here's an example:

I want the Construct to check if the input box contains the word "sit"

    The user enters "sit up"

How do I get Construct to recognize that "sit up" has "sit" in it?

    • Thanks

  • Hi peoples.

I realized there was no good homework planner on the apps store or on Google Play. So I would like to make my own. I do, however, have a problem. I would like to store entered data like 'task' etc... How do I store this data in a variable to be recalled later?

    • Thanks

Obviously there will be more than task at a time

  • Hello peoples.

I am looking for a 2D artist who is ready to go. I am hoping to make a 2D top-down strategy game. If you are interested, message me. It might be good if you also send me a link to some of your work. I am really looking for the real thing, it would be great if you were thinking of going into the business of a game artist. If you are looking for inspiration for a some art to send me, here's a short brief:

A top-down layout of a flat battlefield. Most of the battlefield covered in grass, but it does have the occasional tree. The grass should not be 1 colour, but a variety of colours.

Also, when we have finished our main game. We might be updating it every now-and-again.

    Best of luck! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I am a useless artist, but a good programmer!

  • Microsoft are making it difficult for web programmers to make websites. Because up to now, programmers have had to code pages twice. Once for most browsers and another time for Internet Explorer. When will Microsoft see that Internet Explorer will no longer be a competitor for other browsers?
