  • Hello mmoDust,

I am unsure if my issue was the same as your's BUT I found the solution for my particular issue. For me, my game was choppy when I executed the app from within VS2012 for Windows 8. However, if I stopped the game in VS2012 and ran the game from the Start screen, it ran perfect.

    I hope this helps.

  • Even though Construct 2 runs fine in a VirtualBox VM, Chrome/Firefox 10 struggle a bit with some of the more complex games in the Arcade. However, I just turned on Bridged networking (in the VM settings) and test games run great using Chrome/Firefox 10 on Fedora.

So, thats an option for anyone in my situation: Develop in Windows VM, test using native Linux web browser(s).

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • More VRAM definitely helps. I just slapped together a working VM to show that it will work without issue. For the most part, its just as responsive as a P4 3.06ghz with a gig of ram and a Geforce 6200 128MB that I have as a spare comp.

  • Hello All,

Even though this topic is a month and a half old, I was able to get Construct 2 running under an XP VM in Virtualbox 4.1.8 also, without issue. All I did, really, was to enable 3D and 2D acceleration, Enable VT-X support, and set the VRAM to 32 MB. Though, I am unsure if VT-X is a "requirement", it helps performance.

It runs very well so far.

My system configuration is as follows:

    Core2 E6750

    8GB of DDR3 ram

    Geforce 7800GTX 512MB

    1TB Sata HD

    Fedora 16 X64
