  • I just posted a Tutorial on That very subject :-). Head on over and read it :-D

  • It's not a trouble, it's just for you, so that ppl can test your game.

    So, I tried it.

I'm a little puzzled. It's basicly just collecting random appearing squares, or I am missing something. I found the movement a bit troublesome at times. The jump sounds like I'm walking on invisible platforms at time.

I went up to level 2 (I guess, changing of scenery). 1000 points (I think) was a bit too long too obtain (considering you're basicly going through the screen to collect stuff without "opposition").

The graphics are cute (the squares and orange are quite expressive for their stylized appearance), the background/scenery of level2 is pretty nice too with little birds too.

    It's exotic and it works.

I encountered a gameover, I'm not sure why, maybe make the win/death conditions more obvious.

Also instructions screen is pretty hard to read. Black on blue, my tired old eyes give me some hard time in this configuration.

At last the splash screen didn't seem to fit the kongregate's integration frame. I couldn't read the very bottom white line and the logo seemed to go too much to the right (esthetic trouble only, once pressed space it's better in configuration and game).

I don't mean to be harsh or rude, I'm just expressing my opinion about the game here. I know critics may be hard to hear sometimes.

Anyway, to me it's not a finished/polished game to be published. It's more like a good base of work you can come back to and improve as users will give feedback.

    Keep it up.

No this is great! Seriously! I've been looking for feedback other than "it sucks, fix it." Which I've been getting often. Now I'll know what to fix when I update it!

The game was an entry for a game jam in which I had 1 hour to create a game. The entry when it was finished was way more buggy than it is now. Thank you so much for giving me feed back because now I can make the game better to play :-). Hopefully I'll be able to implement these changes on Wednesday!

  • Edited. Sorry for the trouble! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hello everyone, It took me a while to post because I've been busy updating the game I made using Construct2. The game is called "Orange 'N' Squares" Its about an Orange named Jojo who is on a never ending quest to collect the red squares!

The game is available at Kongregate.com. Its hard to find because of the many games that use oranges, so I'll provide a link:

    Play Orange'N'Squares

Please tell me what you think of the game :-)

  • I totally did not see that O_O...Once again Scirra you have stumped me :-P

  • Hello,

I did some looking around recently and discovered a method(probably common by now to other devs who haven't heard of construct) of android app creation.

is a video tutorial for it I found on youtube.

If you notice in the Javascript code some of the files that he uses are either the same, or extremely similar to what construct exports. Mainly the "index.html" file.

From what I gather he's really just creating a sort of wrapper for the application so that android phones can read it. I figure this "discovery" along with the touch function could allow for some unique apps...

  • Thanks guys, I didn't think the replies would be so quick! :-) Yes I have checked out that article. I guess the best I can do is use Construct Classic...With which I have the same problem.

Okay in Construct classic. when I load the audio into the program, I should be able to play it from a resource right? When I try to play it from a resource, nothing shows in the menu. Is there a specific way that I can use the Audio in the Classic version?

  • Hello,

While working on my game the Audio randomly cut out. I tried to run a couple of tests including closing all other programs that used sound. The problem still persists.

Is there any known way around this?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Hey everyone, On the internet I go by the One Man Project. It doesn't mean that I make games by myself( though I can), it simply means that I have an array of talents that I can contribute to a project. Construct Caught my eye as I was going through HTML5 sites and I wanted to jump in.

    Thank you for having me!
