Yeah, I *THINK* C3 is going for something like this?

Ashley said that after the release of C3 there might be a possibility for that too, but just as a later feature. I think it's an important (and very complex, thus hard to make) feature. Almost everyone is talking about this right now in the visual programming area, and there are engines that are under development to support this (for ex.: Clickteam Fusion 3, Spark Engine).

  • Tom From time to time there are links that come up in the forums to guide beginner developers towards optimization or better memory management with Construct 2. My suggestion would be to create a page somewhere in the Manual or Tutorials section called "Important and helpful documents" or something like that. That page would list these popular, but not well-known articles for organization and helping purposes.

I'm talking about articles like these:

    https://www.scirra.com/manual/134/performance-tips

    https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/298/pe ... bile-games

    https://www.scirra.com/blog/112/remembe ... our-memory

Users tend to find the one in the manual, and maybe even the tutorial as well. However the article in the blog is almost completely forgotten.

  • Ashley - adding onto this, it would be cool if in the image editor when you use the resize button, if there were a checkbox that would allow you to maintain aspect ratio when you change the value of the height/width of a image.

Sounds like a basic feature that even simple editors like the one C2 has should have. So +1. Also, this is an old request that has came up a few times if I remember well.

  • +1

It sounds like an easy to implement feature, but it could be useful for a lot developers.

  • You get all updates for Construct 2 for free, however when Construct 3 comes out, you'll have to buy that again. Since we don't know any date about C3, and it's probably still a long way off, I'd suggest don't wait for it.

Before you buy Construct 2, do some testing with the free version and see if the workflow suits you.

  • It displays the game jam category for me.

  • Can you be more specific? What are you doing exactly when you update the game?

  • Try it in defferent browsers too (like Firefox, Opera, Edge). If you could post a screenshot of the error, that would be helpful too.

  • Good to know that this can cause a problem like that. Thanks for the heads up.

  • Sounds like a video driver issue.

That was my first idea as well. Try updating your video card drivers.

    Ahh Sorry about that, here's the .capx - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxUJmT ... sp=sharing

I downloaded your capx and opened it in r225. It works fine for me, I can easily switch between event sheets and different layouts. Just in case, I did a re-save and uploaded it: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/166 ... esave.capx

You may try this on your computer, I changed nothing, but I doubt that just a re-save can fix this issue.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I don't understand either why the 64bit version uses more CPU. But as far as I know, the 32bit version will not be able to use more than 4GB of memory.
