• The game I'm making has many RPG elements, such as

• RPG-like combat - The player deals damage to enemies, and it takes into account stuff like defense and critical chance. Plus items the player has have various effects, such as more damage to armored enemies, increased critical chance, extra life regen, causing status effects (bleed, slow) etc
• Leveling up - You get experience, and when you level up your stats increase and you can level up your skills
• Skills - The player has active and passive skills
• Item drops - The player can open chests to get a random item. There are tiers of items, so rare items appear less often

And its proving really hard to make, but I'm managing. I have been using C2 since it came out, and I used CC for a few years before that, so if you're new to C2 I recommend you start by making a puzzle or a platformer, because RPGs are incredibly hard to make. If you really want to make a RPG, you better try RPG Maker

• Problem Description

A Sprite Font near the right side of the screen will get cut if it's at an angle. At the top it disappears entirely

Attach a Capx

[/attachment:32myq1cx]

Description of Capx

The Sprite Font objects at the top and right have unexpected behaviors when rotating

The Rotate behavior, as well as the Sprite Font properties (text align and hotspot) are not the cause of this bug

Steps to Reproduce Bug

• Place a Sprite Font object near the left of the screen
• Set its angle to a value between 70 and 30
• Some of the text will be cut out

Observed Result

Parts of the text get cut out

Expected Result

The entire text should be visible

• Looks like a bug with Sprite Font indeed

If you have an angled Sprite Font object near the right of the layout, it will get cut

In the editor:

[/attachment:2ft5lh9k]

In the browser:

[/attachment:2ft5lh9k]

I'll make a bug post about it

• I have an example of random items on the scirra arcade:

• This is how the function call looks using "Set return value". It would be nice to have an action like "Call function by expression" or something like that, that would look like this, but without it requiring a return value

[/attachment:rjlqh725]

• Problem Description

Functions can't have 17~18 or more parameters, as it breaks the call function window, or it doesn't fit (specially if a parameter has multiple lines)

With 20 parameters, the "Add parameter" and "Remove parameter" buttons disappear

Steps to Reproduce Bug

Call a function with a lot of parameters

Observed Result

[/attachment:3kgz0xtu]

Expected Result

A scroll bar, probably

• Huh, seems like objects in invisible layers are not considered as invisible. Not sure if this is the intended behavior... let's ask Ashley

• You have to put it all ('darkness' and 'light' sprites) all on their own layer, and set the layer's property "Set own texture" to "Yes"

• If I understand correctly, you want the game to be darker but have spots where there is light? (something like this?)

Click "New project" and pick from one of the examples that teach about blending modes. There's one called Destination Out that can achieve that

• So this didn't work?
