  • Not that I don't support it, but this "Pay-what-you-want" thing, with no limits and an option to use the software free, seems a whole lot like donations with more initiative.

  • Construct keeps crashing AFTER I exit it. That doesn't make sense.

Well, yeah, that wasn't especially helpful, but I don't know why it's doing that.

    -David

  • Well, that helps, but here (unless the person's computer is a couple of pieces of garbage slapped together), it definitely should load in under a minute at most. So... Thanks anyways.

    -David

  • Ok, that should be helpful. Thanks.

So, I just put these things as sub-events of an On Loop event, right?

    -David

  • I'm running a loop to make a "loading" text change the number of periods, like

    Loading

    Loading.

    Loading..

    Loading...

and turn back and change again.

Along with that, how would you make a loop pause?

Though it may not be necessary after the loop has a pause between actions (since it's not a long load anyways), for "how many times shall the loop run", is there a way to make it infinite?

Yeah, it isn't too important, but I may need this information later on.

(Edit: You know what, I'm not sure why I haven't bothered to pay any attention to the tutorials. Sorry about that, this probably will be the last question I ask that might be covered by them.)

  • I've tried a bunch of things and they don't work. (I couldn't search for this, and it wasn't in the documentation nor the FAQ).

So, I'm trying to make something loop infinitely. In the meantime the only thing I can think of is to put in a number so large that it's practically infinite.

  • It's probably going to, but I just wanted to make sure.

  • Either way, if I delete it or not, I still need to re-open the layout-

    Wait a second.

It may not be a glitch, but simply the project not properly closing when all of its displayed layouts are closed.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • The <windows> section turns from <windows>[informationy stuff]</windows> into <windows />. I am using a text editor, so that's how I know this. Anyways, this behavior is annoying, because it makes the file not load properly! As a result I don't see anything open up. I either have to manually edit the persist file (which oh so "persistently" keeps doing this every time I close the thing trying to copy and paste some script) and reinclude the necessary tags, or go to the project sections and choose a Layout from there. Yeah, I know it's an unstable build and all, but this is really just stupid.

  • Well, I've only just started using Construct...

But anyways, it doesn't seem like it. What I want is openable and closable folders in the objects list so I can organize those better. There are going to be a ton of objects and events in the actual file of our project, and while event grouping will probably be easy as pie, it sure as heck won't be for object grouping. Hundreds and hundreds...

    -David

  • Like you can make groups in the event sheet, you should probably be able to make Object Groups as well so you can organize those too. Though this means you need to be able to drag objects too.

Unless you're already planning this for another version or Construct 2, of course. =P

(Oh, and if this has been suggested before, you can't blame me because I could not find anything in the Search.)
