  • And without posting your project, I'm afraid all other users also are and you will not get an answer.

Or at lest show the relevant code of your event sheet so we can tell you, what in the logic would not work.

  • There is no ETA at this time.

You can look into this topic to find other websites where to upload your game.

Perhaps you should first spend time reading what already exists on the subject in this dedicated forum : https://www.construct.net/fr/forum/game-development/distribution-and-publishing-26

Then you can participate to discussion there.

Closing this topic here as it is not relevant to the current forum (technical questions on how to make the games) and there is already enough to check and discuss.

  • Well you can use a regular sprite, using different frames.

Check out the How do I FAQ for Construct 2 at the category "Tiling / Grid" to have examples on how to do it.

The tiled background or the tilemap plugins can be used as scenery and not obstacles.

You put them in the background and disable their collisions, they won't interfere with other elements.

It sounds more like you had a different issues in your tests with them (or perhaps got confused in some unexpected interaction).

Have you gone through the article manual for each of them to see what they can and are supposed to do ?

  • I'm following a tutorial based on making platform games. there's a line of text that i just do not understand. the tutorial link is here https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/253/how-to-make-a-platform-game/page-7 i have got to the section about applying actions to the enemy character, but i dont understand the event screen. "if action is "right", simulate the platform movement holding the 'right' key to move the snail right" this line doesn't make sense for me and the image that comes with this instructions doesn't make sense ever. scirra.com/images/articles/snailcontrolevents.png. If anyone can help me out with this small part of coding that would be very helpful, as i really want to complete my game.

This topic is not where to post questions as indicated in the first post.

"action" is an instance variable of the snail object in this case, and according to its value, you will simulate the control in a different direction.

Please post a new topic for further questions.

  • mumu64 thanks, added.

  • Ha right, this hasn't been corrected yet.

  • Hi Tom , Are you monitoring this thread or should we post our suggestions somewhere else?

The search function stopped working, it's returning 404 error all the time. Also, when I click on my posts and search there, the search results are unsorted, could you sort them by date?

Quite often, when I insert an image, it doesn't appear in my post. I have to edit it, insert the same image again (I get a new image ID) and then it works..

Suggestions and bugs should be reported : github.com/Scirra/Construct.net-website-bugs

  • Well the first thing to do is to inform yourself.

Read the manual article as a start.

Then have you set up the server you are trying to reach ?

If so, consult its documentation to make sure it is correctly configure and is using a secure protocol.

Then make sure the URL you are using within construct starts with wss instead of ws.

  • Could not find the guidelines. Also, I figured this only happens on computers with no admin rights. I also think it can be because of firewall or something.
