When a layout is loaded it also loads/executes the associated event sheet in the "Event sheet" property of the layout (and only this event sheet).

If this event sheet contains "Includes" (explained in the link vee41 posted above) those event sheets will be executed too, as "child" of the primary executed event sheet.

You should rather use the TiledBackground plugin which is dedicated to repeating textures.

You might want to check this article about spritesheets in Construct2 as well as image compression in C2.

This should help you optimize as much as possible.

Also be aware optimisation is a waste of time for anything not mentioned in the performance tips manual entry.

A possible implementation is to use the 8 direction behavior and set its property "Directions" to "4 directions".

But actually, I'd strongly suggest you to go through a few tutorials first.

Start with the beginner's guide for Construct2 and Asteroid in less than 100 events and don't hesitate to dig into more tutorials, there's always a lot to learn from there.

Those tutorials will already show you how to do a lot of things with Construct so be sure to complete them before going further.

As far as I know yes, youtube videos are the only to be embed thanks to a [ tube] tag. Also make sure to add a link, the embedding doesn't work in FireFox.

I don't think tutorials allow you to use iframe (or even html tags for that matter).

briermay: The manual entry states Node.js websocket server.
Zack0's plugin has nothing to do with the current websocket plugin (it is/was a thrid-part plugin).

According to this article you may install/use the node websocket server (several versions linked in the article).

Would you mind having another go at it with a websocket module on your node.js server to make sure there's definitely an issue ?
