    Improved version of last game.(ish)

    Changes:

    640 x 480 window (was 800x600)

    More rockets.

    Rocket platforms now created at random heights.

    Player can use 'Space bar' or 'Middle mouse' to drop bombs.

    Disabled sounds (too many blasts going on)

    Runs 10 fps faster than the last version.

    Thanks Dapeeper

  • Thank you, I love zombies.

    I'm a not a visual artist/drawer, with barely any experience with drawing software. With that in mind: may I ask you how you made the zombie (graphics wise)?

    Here's a quick tutorial regarding the graphics:

    Couldnt get the file smaller due to graphic content (note: im rubbish at tutorials!)

  • Anyone need a Zombie Character for a game?

    I made this example for a game, but it never got finished (again)

    Feel free to use, modify or whatever.

  • Thanks tulamide.

    This is a list of the Particle simulation options:

    Simulation Settings

    20=Acceleration

    21=Gravity

    22=GravityAngle

    23=Grow

    24=DisplayAngleTurnspeed

    These are the choices available in Construct:

    The Action option for line 24 is missing.

    Hope this makes sense?

    "Anyway, the above is a very easy to solve issue, put it on the tracker and hopefully here are also reading people who are working on updates to Construct 0.x "

    Whats the 'Tracker', i assume its a post for bugs? How do i go about reporting this error.

  • WOW! sums that that in one word.

  • Glad you sorted it. .I cant take the credit though, and I still dont know who posted the original example?

  • I have been trying to build a particle testing tool that will enable me to 'save' the objects setting's to a 'ini' or 'text' file. The only problem is, 2 of the particle object's setting dont seem to be working correctly ?

    Here's a screenshot:

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22173473/pproblem.png">

    When i try to alter the value settings for the above, it changes both of them ?

    Thanks in advance.

  • If you create the Star system objects using a loop (indexed to the number typed in the edit box) Each one will have its own unique private variable.

    Here's a cap :

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22173473/StarSytems.cap

    1, Click the 'generate' button.

    2, Click on each Star system to display its unique number.

    Hope this helps.

    P.S The Sprites Objects you are using are way too big(1027 x 768)(the download is over 5 meg), Why dont you cut then up into smaller tiles, if you dont the game will always run slow.

  • Error with the link. says the cap doesn't exist?

  • Try Construct 3

  • This is a screenshot of the events that control the ship:

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22173473/movement.png

  • i improved the ship movement, and added in collisions with the asteroids. but it is still not rotating the way i want it to.

    it is turning, instead of rotating.

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6707683/construct.../asteroids_test.capx

    is this something that just has not been added to c2 yet, or am i just using a wrong method?

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    I just found this capx file i downloaded a couple of weeks ago. Its a simple asteroid game that somebody posted(i cant give them a mention because i can't find the original post)

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22173473/asteroidSHIP.rar

    Note, Some of the events are disabled, so you will have to enable them.

    Check out the ship's movement!

    Hope this helps.

  • By default, xaudio2 has a limiter active which makes sense but affects the sound being played. Try the following:

    1) While only playing this one sound, switch off the limiter and see if it still crackles.

    2) Open your wav-file with some sound editor and select the first milliseconds (ca 25-50 ms should suffice). Then use a fade-in on that part. Save it and try again with and without the limiter. Does it still crackle?

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    I had the same problem. Solved it using tulamides example:

    I removed first couple of spikes. (everything before the red line)

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22173473/sounderror.png">

    Also make sure your sound doesn't overlap on loop.
