  • Can anybody please explain to me what's going on here? I've taken a sprite and split it up, but then I put it right back together as 6 separate sprites. The problem is that there are these weird lines now. I know I'm probably not explaining this very well so here's a capx file

    I hope I posted that file correctly <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad">

anyway, in the file you can see that they are the exact same sprites. The first one on the left looks normal. The 6 sprites on the right are just the same sprite split up 6 times and put back together. For some reason there are lines separating them, what the hey???

I'm under the suspicion that it's only like that cause of my video card or driver or something and when someone else downloads it, they're gonna say it looks normal although I have no idea. Just assume I'm a total idiot <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile"> thank you so much for any help

  • Hey there, guys. I was just wondering if anybody had any advice on how to use functions to move through pipes in a Super Mario Bros. remake I'm doing. Right now, I just have to code each individual pipe to move me to another location. This is very inefficient, however, as I believe I could just use a function event one time and it work with every pipe. All the pipes just take me to one location, though. Please help, thank you

  • wow thank you so much for the information! Sounds like you know exactly what I meant, I'll try that method as soon as I can. Thanks!

  • I'm trying to remake parts of Final Fantasy VI in Construct 2 just for my own personal use. I notice that when I put the World Map or any other maps up as a sprite it takes up a ton of memory. So, I'm assuming it would be a good idea to use tilemaps to display the overworld or Narsh and etc. I was wondering if its okay to just load the map as a tilemap and then copy and paste the entire tilemap onto the layout. I was worried because if I do that, then aren't I reusing a ton of the same tiles over and over? For example, in the overworld there are a ton of mountains. But the vast majority of the mountains are the same tile repeated and since I just copied the entire map tile for tile, i'm not efficiently using only that one tile for all the mountains. I would be using lots of different tiles that look the same in one spot each, right? So, would I have to delete all the tiles from the tile map that are exactly the same? and then remake the entire map with the tiles that are left over? I hope I explained myself adequately and I apologize if this is a stupid question. Thank you
