  • Are you sure its not only in the layout editor? It's a known issue that the layout editor in 99.3 distorts the display of sprites. Also, why did you use 99.3? it's an unstable testing build....

[quote:2ucc3fq6]We've been using V-sync (which makes the game run at 60FPS for both of us) with Point sampling all the time. Setting the game to run at Unlimited fixes the problem for me, but not for my friend, and I wouldn't like to use this as a solution anyway.

I don't get how changing the frame rate could fix the problem, It might be some rendering glitch..

are you sure it's not only in the layout editor?

[quote:2ucc3fq6]Is there any possible way to make newer construct caps openable in older builds, particularly 0.98.9?

I'm afraid not, newer builds use newer code which can't be recognized by the older builds.

I'm pretty sure the next build has that layout sprite display glitch fixed, along with a few other things. Maybe wait till the next build to see if it changes anything. Don't make full projects in unstable builds!

  • old PC games are the best.

    Pure fun.

    -Worms Armageddon

    RTS

    -Red Alert 2

    -Total Annihilation

    -Starcraft

    RPG

    -Diablo

FPS really come and go, and there's way too many to choose from. Go with HL2, it's not that demanding, and it's really popular with mods and stuff.

As for the texture maker... Go with gimp or paint.net or an old version of paintshop pro. I don't exactly know what you mean by texture maker.. Generate normal maps? Make seamless tiles? Procedural textures? specify more if possible.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • that prinny one is possible with 3d box to most extents.

  • I wanna try it soon. Looks pretty fun, Like GTA on crack.

  • It's Muz. From TDC. He's made games and stuff before

Lol, sorry muz, I don't hang around tdc. Sorry to noob preach .

  • The easiest way would be to have 2 sprites, one for the torso and arms, and one for the legs. If you only wish to use a single sprite, (it really doesn't make a difference and won't be noticable) then you must be really careful with your eventing. There is no exact process, just be logical and if something doesn't work, chances are you've made a logic mistake at some point. But yea, the shortcut would be to cut the sprite in two, and separate torso actions from leg actions. I realize this could be impossible for certain character models, but if it's plausible for your character, then that would be the easiest way.

  • Construct has more than enough power to create pseudo 3d worlds, I am using 98.9, and even without 3d box or all the fancy new z depth features, I was able to create a convincing pseudo 3d world for my upcoming game. You do not need any extra plugins (even 3d box) to make pseudo 3d in Construct, but you should be comfortable with a fair bit of math. Construct gives you the power of scripting without the syntax, a fast gpu accelerated engine, and a nice ui to make everything in. The rest is up to you! It wasn't made for true 3d because as everyone is saying, 3d is exponentially more complex than 2d. I do 3d modelling and let me tell you that 3d character animation is a job in itself. Also, the code for 3d games is ridiculously complex and mathy, and it needs to be, because there's just so much to account for. Conclusion: Construct isn't for full 3d, I i'm pretty sure it will never be. If you want a complete 3d engine, you will have to use something else unfortunately. 3d games are usually made by a team anyhow, because there is just so much specialization which is required.

  • I use 98.9 and it's stable for my bigger projects. I don't see a problem with starting now, but if you want to be safe wait until 1.0. (even at 1.0 don't expect it to be perfect; there are always new bugs which this relatively small community has yet to discover.) It never hurts to test things out, and making a complete game is really the ultimate bug-sweeping test, as it hits on every aspect of the program. Don't fall into the COOL! EASY PROGRAM! NAO I MAEK SUPER EPIC RPG! syndrome, because you will get discouraged quickly. My advice is to start with a small game and try to finish it, to test your eventing abilities.

  • lol, an actual spambot.

  • gah! the graphics are way too small to see in that window.

Other than that nice micro gfx style. I got up to that part with the jumping and dodging on the moving platform, then my eyes were too strained .

FYI: I find the player's hitbox is too big.

  • Use private variables for all these things. Try the ghost shooter tutorial, I think it should answer most simple questions like these. Welcome to the forums!

  • Hey user, it appears that you don't have the latest version of directX 9. Do you want to install it now? It is required to run & game name &"."

then it should auto prompt the user with...
