  • i have vista and sound works for me, probably cause realtek supports directsound.

    the only prob i have with how sounds are handled atm is that its very difficult to make lots of the same sound be overlappable, like if you have 10 enemys with machine guns, and you tell the event to play a sound when they shoot on channel 6, you wont be able to hear multiple guns firing, and its really difficult to make this "un"happen since they are all the same enemy.

    if it can do this please say how? as its been bugging me

  • i just want 2 add it 2 the wiki for the sake of ppl being able 2 see it,

    things in the uploads section get lost as they lose steam, things in the wiki are there 4ever!

    or maybe i could throw together a little tut on how its made? im over it becoming cliche, I forsee many great things developing from it, and the fact that its called quaziblob makes it soo awesome.

    its a pr0 name lol

  • i really wouldnt care if it was posted as a demo, i mean its a really cool effect, especially if it says quaziblob. im just wondering if ashley has seen the effect yet?, i didnt see any replies of his on the subject.

    i just would like 2 finish my blob guys movement engine and post that as part of the .rar, i still have 2 draw some stuff though.

    keep making examples on it im curious as 2 what all of you will make

    srry if it seems like i though i invented it, i just want to get some credit for it as i wasnt gonna show anyone at all, since it was supposed to be secret, but then i decided 2. its not as if i think im so awesome for making it, its just cmon it is pretty cool and usefull, and its a pretty weird way of making it. so since its so unconventional i want some credit that ill get realised for, i absoluteley hate when something great gets invented (light bulb per say) and no one can easily tell who might of invented it without knowing a thing about it besides its name.

  • i know never said i invented it, ive seen blobmeshes before, i just "invented" it for use in construct

    im totally aware its not the first time something like this has ever been made (i love mario sunshine) but i did come up with it for use in construct, i never meant 2 say i was the first 2 ever do it, but if it wasnt for me, you might of never seen it used in construct at all.

    and btw that blood is awesome, but am i the only one whos getting massive lag and getting 40-30 fps on it

  • whatever, other ppl called it that first, so its not really my name for it, but i dunno why not? names for stuff are always based on the creators name, sterling engine and all kinds of stuff like that

  • that blob isnt a blob, its just intermeshing outlined sprites, these blobs stick toghether at range from each other, and they blot up into a bigger blob when very close toghether

  • i dunno it seems like it would be a cool thing 2 add, since its one of the first construct "techniques"

    which wasnt created using anything except built in stuff, its a cool trick and would be a cool lil tidbit for the wiki.

  • Thanks for sharing these effects, this way everybody learns I noticed the arms on the creature in your slime cap are a bit weird in that they kinda flicker about and fast movements cause the arm to do funny things for about 1 or 2 frames before fixing themselves up. I believe this was due to the order of actions (like you position object b in relation to a, and then position a to a different spot). Anyway I reordered the actions to fix that....however just disregard this cap if you were happy with how the arms moved before.

    yea, the code was messy, i had just got it 2 work by playing around with a few things, but as you said the order was a bit messed up. i think some other ppl should look and see how this arm works, cause i know ive seen way 2 many bent arms sprites swinging 360 around a body, it looks weird. its actually not that hard to make a kinematic system work backwards, you just need to think of doing it in the excact opposite way you normally would i you were working foward.

  • I'd suggest adding some more events to randomize the size of the "drop" as well, since it looks odd at some points with the same size blob every time (not from the gun but rather from bouncing off things).

    This same effect can be done in MMF2 too (minus the snappy physics hehe).

    actually i was trying to make that, just didnt finish yet.
