  • hello guys, i have some small problem for wich you might be able to help me.

    -first , i am just unable to create a fonctionnal menu. does the order matter,

    Right now when i click my button Start Game it only close the application.

    • i have also another small prob. When i move my ship left-right the bounding box or whatever you call the thing that take care of collision is moving in an exponential ways

    ie. if my ship is as, let says xy 300,0 the collision seem to be at 325,0.

  • theinstance: yeah but like i said there some majo difference between the express version and the complete one. som major DLL are missing. you didnt tought microsoft would give a fully workable version of VS for free

    Ashley: im aware Dev C++ is stop but i was tinking largely. i should ask if it was possible to compile using other IDE .like CodeBlock. Im pretty sure im not the only one not using VS

    I was wondering something last night. First i'm no programmer so maybe my question is easy but i don't have the competence to answer it by myself.

    I wish i could play with the SDK but i have no visual studio, i only have access to those express version and from what i understand there some DLL missing in the express version.

    Problem is i personnaly use Bloodshed Dev C++ when i have to put my hand into code.

    Is there any chance i can build the SDK using other IDE than VS?

  • i start this project to learn construct and it goes well. next thing are menu , debugging and balancing.

    but meh. at first it was only suppose to be a game for my child so...we'll see what happen with it ;D

    oh and yeah! i need to find a music to stick over it

  • OKay i'm sorry to have created this thread. i found the solution by myself yes i'm proud even if it was a stupid reading mistake. When using random number ins MAXSCRIPT ( the only other language i know) you say Rand:(0,128) Random from x to y so when i say the float example i tought hey! its the same thing.. WRONG!!!

    But that bring me a question. How to get random number between X and Y when X is not Zero??

    like i dunno 100 and 666?

  • So i try to create this small project were you have to escape falling ball.

    no big deal, i use a, what it seem easy event but i got strange result.

    every 1000 milisec =>System, Create Object "Sprite" on layer1 at random(0,256,0)

    When i run the Cap it goes fine, no error , it spawned regularly my object but the random isn't there.

    First object is spawned a 0,0 other is like 128,0 ( kinda halfway of my screen) after all other object are spawned at 0,0.

    i what to have them spawned irregularly a bite like rain. Any idea what I've done wrong???

  • hello all here's my question.

    i'm looking for a way to create shadow for my game and since the shadow caster create the shadow only with the whole image thus giving me a squareshadow. i try something, i duplicate my Player and fill it with black,the idea was to skew it according to certain object , light for instance.

    Any idea if it is possible? or i'm complicating thing more they should?
