  • Yeah I've had that happen to me before as well... not quite sure how to fix it really... I gave up in the end and made my own particle machine that just generated sprite objects with a behavior.

  • Project is currently on hold.

Customer may be looking at purchasing a copy of Retail Manager for really cheap... but if he can't get it then I will be pushed back on to this.

Bit of a bummer really... will be some good money if it goes through. I just have to wait a few days until he gets back to me with a definite "keep going" or "don't worry about it."

If anything, I learned something and posted a cap that may help others as well

  • Looks cool man, but it still has that wonky cog tooth lol. I like it though, it gives a more 3dish look or something.

  • Ah OK, well if it's fixed then I'll just wait for the next update and leave my events the way they are... I didn't get a chance to mess with it last night as planned since I had to go get my suit refitted for my friends wedding and didn't end up getting home late.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I think the "Folder Dialog: OK" is broken. Just do this:

    +On Button Clicked

    -CommonDialog: Show folder selector

    -Set edit box to CommonDialog.Folder

The Common Dialog object pauses everything while something is up, so just put the set edit box action right after the show folder selector in the same event. Hope that helps.

Cheers link, I'll give it a shot as soon as I get home. I'll let you know how it goes down. Thanks for the reply mate.

  • Thanks again guys... but umm... this is ME we are talking about here... I can understand the whole "good choice" thing when talking about deadeye... but I just want to invert your messages, ninja edit your posts, upside-down your avatars, and mirror your sigs...

Well if you like that sort of thing, then... awesome! Glad to be of service xD

  • Cheer vinny

It looks like everyone is safe... for now... I can't play with anyone's personal affects at this stage. Your avatars will remain right side up for now.

  • WHAT THE?

MY banhammer! It's so.... so.... BIG! *tear*

Thanks guys! This is a real honour and privilege, and I will abuse it with the best of my ability! Although green is not my favourite colour, I can grow to love it, because green is the colour of many things... such as leprechauns and pea soup, neither of which I like... but, oh well I forgot where I was going with this?

On a serious note though, cheers guys

Always happy to help out where I can... even though I didn't think I did all that great of a job to deserve a mod position. Thanks heaps

  • Do you mean see as in, fog of war? Or see as in "detect" things within a certain range?

  • Oh wow pos, did not see that coming.

Hopefully it will be fully functional soon. I plan on using this commercially (it's for a client) so any new releases from now will be in EXE format, but I thought a cap would be good to help anyone who wants to know how it works on the basic level.

I am kinda figuring this out as I go along myself, so any help I can provide to anyone else who wants to try this stuff out is my pleasure.

I take it that it worked ok for you newt?

  • I am having trouble assigning the file/path refrence to a text box using the common dialog object.

I make a Edit box, one button called BROWSE, and a common dialog.

When I press browse, the common dialog shows the FOLDER selector which is fine. When I press OK, it will not transfer the folder name and path into the edit box.

    My code is something like:

    Folder Dialog OK

    -Edit box text = dialog.folder

    Nothing happens D:

    Please halp!

  • I'm not entirely sure, but I think this may be the first serious attempt at a databse program using Construct.

Just as a note: The program creates an INI file on the C: root directory called POS.ini which can be deleted after you are done playing with it if you want. When you create your first customer entry, I think it is not assigned a number... this will be fixed soon. I will be expanding the capabilites of the program to handle stock/inventory control, as well as a customer invoice system.

I hope you guys like it so far.

Also, there will be a major GUI facelift once I get more of the layout completed... so for now it looks rather simple and uninteresting.

Have fun, and post any bugs you find if any (I hope there aren't any!).
