Yeah, this. The way Sol was explaining that VB does it is there's some kind of tab index for entry fields and buttons and such that can be edited. It defaults to creation order but you can change it in the object's properties or some such.

    Yeah this.

I think having an option called "Tab Index" or something along those lines would be good... it's just a number that ascends with each new "tab-able item" created.

Pretty much what deadeye already said... I'm just repeating shit now.

  • That, my friend, is quite possibly the most awesome collectible figure I have ever seen! It's a tie in fact between that, and the life size terminator.

  • OH LOL!

    We may never really know...

(except for me of course )

    ~Sol

  • Well at least it gets you the experience.

My thoughts exactly... I mean chances are, this guy won't want to spend the money on Retail Manager... or he will buy it and won't like it, then I'll be back in the drivers seat.

At least he called me and told me to hold off just for now so he didn't totally screw me around... this way I won't waste time on it if he doesn't need it when I could be doing more fun stuff.

  • Ah, that's too bad. But I guess it's a good thing I hadn't started drawing the UI yet

Yeah I was hoping to catch you in the chat box to let you know... but you had just left when I logged on D:

I'm pretty sure I will still end up making this anyway... if anything, I may be able to use it myself in the future, or even sell it as a basic retail solution.

For now though... back to Chamber.

As soon as the December update arrives, I want to test out this bone system thing and see whether it's gonna do what we want for our character.

Talk to you about that more though in the "proper" area.

  • About the only way that I can think of to make a fog of war system in the game (not on a minimap) is to use the light/shadow plugin. You could then have everything dark, and the object which is doing the "Seeing" would have a large light caster.

That's probably about the only way I can think to solve your problem, at least with the information you have given me.

  • Here we go round the merry-go-round, round and round and round and round. xD

It's good to see fresh life breathed back into the project again. I knew you'd come back and finish this

    Good job mate

  • Looks good to me mate

If I can hurry up and get my butt in gear, I'll do the first issue of C-zone magazine and do some articles on this stuff, helping to break it down and categorize it all nicely. Hopefully after the Christmas mayhem rush I will be able to sit down and get it done.

The more of this kind of stuff we can put together, the better this will all be for beginners to Construct, and more importantly, beginners in game development.

  • What do you even need variables for anyway? I vote remove them entirely! It will make construct a smaller download! SAVE THE BANDWIDTH!

    ~Sol

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I assume this awesome bone stuff is really only feasible in platform and top down games?

I don't see why it wouldn't also work for isometric games as well if that's what you mean. It all depends on how you draw your character and what constraints you put on the bones. Bones are pretty much like a stick man really, and you can make a stick man look like he is facing whichever angle and direction you want depending on how you draw his parts (head mainly).

  • Will try to download later tonight once I get home. I love ninja games

    Linkman + Ninjas = AWESOME
