  • How would i make my soliders line up in formations rather than all going to the same place?

It looks stunted, and is really impractical when splash damage is implemented.

  • Try Construct 3

  • I'd love to get this done guys, i love how supportive you guys are being.

I've been thinking about doing this game for quite a while, i just wonder if it'd be faster to just mod tiberium sun, it probably would, but that way the engine wouldn't be as flexible and familiar as opposed to doing the whole thing myself.

Keep posting guys, i need your support on this.

  • Allright guys, i've picked up progress on this game. I've decided to make the games' art in blender and use isometric render-shots as sprites. I really need help with coding the engine though, i want it to play like tiberium sun, with a tiled grid making up the world.

How would i go about doing this? Is it even possible in construct? Any .cap examples?

Hey, well if you have the drive to tackle it, then by all means go for it. An isometric RTS game would be hawt. I've had experience with iso games before, so if you need any tips then feel free to fire away. Personally I never bothered with a grid, I just used 8 way movement or ball movement... the animations are the key to making cool tile transitions IMO.

Good luck my friend! Hard job, but not impossible!

Yeah, we'll see if i'll do it cnc 1 style for now.

  • Hey guys

Being a big fan of Tiberium sun, i thought i'd make an isometric strategy game, but it's proving harder than i thought it would be. How would one go about doing that exactly?

  • Great work! The new update is awesome!

  • Definately. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. You're the best.

I'll let you know when i find more of these so you can iron them out.

  • Hey.

As much as i love your creation, ashley, i can't help to constantly be pointing out lacking features or general annoyance. It might just be me being a picky person, i have never really come over a better freeware application in my life, but still there's room for improvement.

Firstly, i need help with two small things as the title points out.

How do i negate events. To my dissapointment, there was no "right click-negate" option. This should really be included.

Secondly, i still haven't managed to distinguish between "or" and "and" event relations.

Example: I want my character to be squished between two moving platforms, but only bounce off of one of them. So i need to use an "and" condition, because if i just stack up two events it just ends up killing my character the instant he touches either of the pads.

Well, sorry for sounding off like an annoying crybaby in this post ash, i'm just trying to help you improve on this amazing piece of coding and help sort out user friendliness.

    Thanks.

  • Hey ash.

Your application Construct never ceases to amaze me, but it has it's fair share of bugs and crashes to be dealt with. Since i'm a helpful person i thought i'd drop by and give you a heads up every time i get one of these crashes to help you improve on this already magnificent piece of coding.

While working on a small platformer called "cosmos" i stumbled upon an infinite loop freeze-bug. When i had my character face a wall and then shoot a bullet so it was instantly destroyed at the same time as it was spawned the game-window froze up and i had to ctrl-alt-delete the thing to death.

  • And i just get a request to error report.

  • The exact same thing happens when i try to use layers as well.
