  • 64 bit windows is the only version that will recognize 4 gigs of ram, unfortuantely.

To be more specific, when I attempt to load most .cap files I get a runtime error. It claims an abnormal program termination.

Other than that, it simply frequently shuts down for no apparant reason when I use it, or simply stops respoinding.

I reinstalled it, and I am having the same issues. Is there anything I can do to give you more info to assist in resolving this? This program looks excellent, and I'd very much like to start using it.

  • Here's a quick summary. If you need more info, I can print a system scan out.

    Vista 64 bit Home premium

2 Nvidia 8800 GT 512mb graphics cards running SLI

Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 2.40 ghz

XFX Nforce 780I SLI intel socket 775 ddr2 motherboard

    4 gigs of ram ddr2

    2x 250g sata hard drives

  • Whenever I load up construct, it tends to crash.

Also, I cannot load most .cap files. It crashes the program.

Any idea why this might be occuring?

  • Is there a tile or object limit per frame in construct?

Just curious how large you can make a project.

  • That's EXACTLY what I'm on about.

    Sounds perfect. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" />

  • Well, I don't think it would be a particularly difficult thing to hard code into construct. And if you don't want to use it, you don't have to. Just like grids and snap to.

But for those of us who need it, it would be nice. Otherwise you have to code a level editor, load up your tiles into arrays, and then populate the game with those tiles on load time.

Takes a heck of a lot of time just to do something that could be easily worked around with a simple addition of one tool.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I've got an idea that would really make this program a jump above the competetion.

    A built in tile editor.

As it goes now with certain WYSIWYG game creation software (MMF cough) you have to write up your own tile editor just to make a decent looking game in a timely fashion.

How much better would it be if you could select a picture, determine the size of the grid to overlay on that picture, and draw tiles from the picture directly into the construct application itself.

This would make game construction quick and dirty, like it should be. Not to mention it would greatly improve this already beautiful application.

    Tell me what you think.

  • I am unable to make events. All of the event options are greyed out.

And when I click on an object and select new event, the program crashes.

    Any idea what's going on?
