  • that's wicked cool!

it gets wonky when you move the mouse really quickly though

  • i want to play around with the bone movement more but it's a hassle to first create sprites for each 'bone'.

i don't know how difficult this would be to implement but i would use 'bone' based animations a lot more if i could just set up 'rigs' and then do whatever else i needed to after setting them up.

maybe if each bone had a dynamically resizable rounded-rectangle that it would automatically use when creating new bones and having the option of loading an image or sprite to replace the default at any time afterwards.

this would make the bone movement much easier to use, especially when i don't have any sprites waiting to be used as bones.

i'm thinking maybe it should be an object rather than a behaviour ... anyone?

  • eh, i'm not sure what details you want but the way i'm hoping this will work is that i'll give entrants story bits and they make a game with what i give them?

    examples

    1) The theme of this story: dark adventure. The main character: stupid alien. The major event of the story: journey.

    2) The theme of this story: epic caper. The main character: laid-back assisant. The major event of the story: violence.

    3) The theme of this story: humorous slice-of-life. The main characters: detached healer and burnt-out rogue. The start of the story: critical injury. The end of the story: misunderstanding.

    4) The theme of this story: humorous transformation. The main character: philosophical biologist. The major event of the story: natural disaster.

    5) The theme of this story: light-hearted quest. The main character: narrow-minded psychiatrist. The start of the story: reconciliation. The end of the story: sport.

  • i've never initiated a friendly competition before but i'm going to give it a go anyhow.

it'll be story based in that i'll provide each contestant bits and pieces of a story/plot and the rest would be up to the contestant to fill in as they please.

the compo will on saturday and sunday.

reply to this thread and i'll give each of you your plot bits!

  • i was actually thinking more along the lines of creating hd sprites so i'd be using a canvas at 1000x1000px and then shrinking it down 200x200px or whatever what required ...

  • aside from these i don't have anything else at the moment but i imagine that whatever i do right now would be somewhat similar to this and by, "to this" i mean my interest in musculature

maybe if you have something you'd like me to make, i'll have a go at it

  • so i just got a great idea to make sprites by first working large scale filling in all the details without worrying about it being imperfect then shrinking it down to the size i really want it to be so that the imperfections are lost in the process of shrinking yet looking amazing buuut that's as far as i managed to get with my idea ...

it may or may not be an original idea for others but it's something i have yet to try and as such, i'm itchin'!

maybe you need some art assets or whatever, maybe i can help out!

  • it FINALLY works!!!

  • They're on revision 14 already! Not sure if it's gonna compile just yet though...

i was thinking about the same thing! wondering if the files could simply be downloaded and compiled into a suuuuper early preview!! haha

  • sandboxie doesn't break anything in the setup that i know of, everything appears to install correctly but i know that sometimes all that's required is to move a couple of direct x dlls to the main application folder for an application to start working but it didn't seem to work this time

it's not THAT big of a deal but i enjoy the easy removal of programs using sandboxie so i thought i'd try to find a work around/solution before resorting to a regular installation. i'll try asking on the sandboxie forums and if nothing comes of it then i'll do a regular installation withot sandboxie. s'all good!

  • Rich

i like the ease of removing old version of construct completely before installing new builds

  • i have a problem, it likely has to do with the fact that i'm trying to install it in sandboxie but older versions of construct had no problems being installed in a sandbox

any help getting it to work would be much appreciated!
