  • So it's been quite a few months since the last NW.js update, is it not improving much, or is it as good as it's going to get?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • PC gamers hate not being able to use keyboard, even if you recommend that a gamepad is the best way to experience the game, you'll get a lot of complaints and confused users if the keyboard is not well supported.

Ideally for efficiency and a large audience, we need to support as many input methods as we can while using as few buttons as possible.

lwgames I think we'll have to start a new topic or page with all information in this topic compiled, it doesn't seem like Ashley has much interest/time to keep it updated or comprehensive.

  • supporting everything takes time and effort, and sometimes it's not worth that cost. Especially since we have close to zero discussion about the Wii-U, so for all I know it's a dead platform/market, with the HTML5 power of an apple watch.

  • Colludium Thanks! That works perfectly for Mac.

Yeah uploading a build to Steam is really convoluted!

    andreyin, thanks for that info!

Has anyone made a compilation post elsewhere with all this scattered information in it? It doesn't look like Ashley is going to edit the first post ever again.

  • Colludium, yeah I think "Kiosk" might be useless since that's an export option and not a runetime one.

  • When I do fullscreen on a Mac, if I move the mouse to the bottom or top of the screen, the taskbar and dock goes above the game window. My game is a strategy game so one of the methods that players will use to control the camera is by bumping the edge of the screen. Games like Star Craft, Command and Conquer, Warcraft, Dota, LoL, and so on all use this common technique to shift the camera.

Is it possible to not have the menu/dock stuff appear and break my game? Or is this another browser/nodewebkit limitation? Thanks!

A screenshot of a C2 game fullscreen on a Mac:

When I move the mouse to the bottom/top edge of the screen, the game is covered by the dock/taskbar:

  • Ya, Gabe said something like that after they announced Greenlight. But at the same time if someone can't tell a game is bad from the developer then they can just look at the user reviews on the same page.

  • I would like to do this as well. There should be an option with nodewebkit/nw.js to open a link with their own real browser.

  • Thanks TiAm for the workaround. Though personally I found that solution caused more problems: my tabs were no long open or in the order, and all events are open (meaning you'd have to collapse every single event that has subevents manually). So probably more work than resizing the widths.
