  • Haven't finished anything good in Construct yet.

  • My computer told me that I should post this:

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1024727/conestruct.PNG" border="0" />

    In the family editor thing, I gave a family a new private variable. I then went to edit the value for a sprite, and it gives this message. I only had 3 variables but it thinks I have 4? Is it because I've used the family editor thing to much? I've deleted and added variables before which maybe weren't properly removed or something?

  • I'm pretty sure it can do that, sorry about the link it only seems to work when you copy and paste it.

  • I haven't played it in ages, but if its like Metroid's then you should check out the plugin magicam

  • I don't see anything wrong with having a large layout?

  • Try Construct 3

  • That is called a room full of enemies.

  • You can already test collisions with the light object, but it still detects them when they're in shadow.

  • Thanks for this. The only bad thing about the blur thing is that it makes the edges of objects glow (in the shadows).

    Is there a way to tell if an object is in the light? For instance, I may want objects invisible unless you can see them.

    Yeah but they designed the checkbox method to be more efficient. Don't think anyone actually works in that interface view.

  • Oh fantastic thanks! I had tried storing it as a string variable, then doing the token count on it but that didn't work. Although setting it to text in a text object seems to work well!

  • Thanks DtrQ, do you know how I could count how many there are (3 in this case)?

  • Using the File object, there's an expression "get directory list" which basically gives you the names of all directories in a directy. I had a string which was being set with this. It outputs stuff like this: {"directory1","directory2","directory3"}, and the expression editor says its an array and I don't know how to handle arrays that are in expressions? I was wanting to count how many directories there were, I tried using "get token count" but the expression editor says that you can only use token stuff on strings and does not work with arrays. Anyone know what I can do?
