It's working for me. Make sure you're using the latest version of the desktop app or enabling local file/folder saves in Chrome.
Make sure you're using the latest version of the desktop app. Old out-of-date versions won't work any more.
I've run a number of tests and I've never observed the things you're describing. Please file issues following all the guidelines if you think there is a problem with Construct - we need all that information to be able to help.
Minifying should not affect the app loading time significantly. Other users have indicated the splash screen is working correctly for them on both iOS and Android now, and my own tests on a couple of devices have shown it working correctly too. It's difficult to help without more information - maybe post to the forum with a sample project, or file an issue following all the guidelines.
If you have trouble, please file an issue following all the guidelines. As things stand there are no further known issues, so unless any issues are reported we will proceed with a stable release next week.
Construct 3's Drawing Canvas object might do what you need.

Search for it in the start page, or open it here
I just tried it and it works fine here.
This doesn't appear to be related to this blog post at all.
User interface is actually extremely complicated and time consuming to design and implement. This is a classic example of thinking it's quick and easy but it's actually one of the harder things to do. UI looks easy but it takes a very great deal of work to make it "just work" that well, so in general any idea that involves any change to the UI is not a minor suggestion.
It can be very unpopular to withdraw support for features people are still using. People interpret an update that removes support for an old feature that breaks their project, as a broken update.
Even now, hundreds of C2 projects are imported to C3 every day. It's a major feature for a lot of people and makes it far easier to upgrade to C3, resulting in more C3 sales.
