  • Thanl you for answer ^^

  • Serious question, it looks possible isn't it ?

    Don't you think?

  • Weird, what if you use the trigger "At start of the layout" => "Your text: visible" ?

or use a timer, and when the timer reach a value => "your text: visible", at least you can check the debug panel and see if the variable change

  • Also if you like a kind of text you can "right click" => clone it, to make another one with same settings, do not use ctrlv/ctrl+v or it won't work like you expect ^^

  • foxmaster please tell me how it goes

I have no idea for the moment I finish the game first

  • I would try exporting the movie as frames and making a sprite with repeating animation. This way you have some control over it too (slow down, speed up)

Good thinking! I'll try this method too

  • I'm looking forward to some performance numbers here if anyone tests it ^^

The problem is videos are big for websites, but for a simple game why not ^^

For exemple my ship fly in a big 3D canyon made with Blender, there is a video when the ship go inside the canyon (like starwars VI) then another repetitive video will be used during the fight scene, until the 3rd video at the end :p

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • It sounds like you don't have your event sheet assigned to the layout you want. You need to share your capx for fast help.

    cheers,

    Mike

    Exactly! Thank you dudes

  • I'm making a shoot'em up and I have 2 possibilities for the background. I need your advice

I was wondering if it is a good idea to put a video on the background?

With that method I could make many effects in another software, even a fake 3d background using repetitive parts it seems big but much simple for me.

    Is is a good method?

I will use few secondes of video, with a correct compression, I suppose it's possible to load the video before the "level" correct?

    Thank you for your advice

  • On layout1:

    On event sheet 1:

On start of layout => Set Global Variable to 1, works

    On layout2:

    On event sheet 2:

On start of layout => Set Global Variable to 2, doesn't work

Even if I delete the event sheet 1 it doesn't work... The gobal variable is on the event sheet3

    How possible?! Oo

Maybe the problem is the event sheet doesn't know wich layout it's talking about? Maybe I don't understand

  • Are you using a global variable? If its not global, it won't be carried over into the next frame.

Yeah, unforthunatly I think I made a mistake somewhere

I've just rebuilt a new project with the same kind of stuff and it's working now...

Maybe I have an hidden virable somewhere that influence my other variable... But when I look in the debug panel all global variable are set to 0.

I have no choice to check the whole event list damn

    Any capx please?

My project is already too advanced and big to send a link, I'll try to erase useless stuffs and send a custom file a moment
