  • After finishing the racing game Monza in 1950, I would like to make a rally game.

I wonder if with Construct 2 is possible to create an old-school pseudo-3D racing game; I tried a bit but I need some ideas on how to make the game especially how to create the road, especially curves, placing objects, move the car, etc. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_question.gif" alt=":?:" title="Question">

Do any of you have any ideas / suggestions? Tutorial? Code examples to get started?

Place the link to the game to which I would like to inspire me:

  • Congratulations. Nice game. I like the graphics.

  • I had thought.

  • Thanks for all the tips, I'll keep them in consideration for the next release.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • - Controls could be designed in different way, personally I would just use Arrow keys for what you have so far.

    - I finish a whole race without using a brake and won it. And for arcade game its good idea maybe add a bit more deceleration when releasing Throttle button.

In the next version of Monza in 1950, I would add up / down arrow to accelerate / brake.

Even in normal or hard difficulty don't you brake or release the accelerator?

  • Thanks Mercuryus; I am happy that you enjoy the game.

  • Good game, I like this graphic.

  • MONZA 1950 Demo

Monza 1950 is a car racing game, made with less than 100 lines of code. Is the first game that I realized with Costruct 2 (free version).

There are two playable circuits, Test Track and Monza 1950. Each race lasts six rounds and at the end of the race will show the ranking with the times.

If the game like we add other circuits and features (audio, rankings etc.) with the paid version of Construct 2.

    Some pictures:

You can play it from here:

Control of the car (the red car):

Arrow key left or right: turn left or right.

    D: accelerated.

    S: brake.

  • Nice game. Goodluck.

With the 3D physics update it should be simpler to build some kind of 3D gameplay. Q3D can do all the difficult work but there is still some requirement for you to build things on your own using the tools Q3D gives

    Thanks for the reply.

  • Thanks for the reply.

You are right, I can not use car behavior. I want the car moving even in the z-axis.

The game is similar to this (though this is a fake 3d):

Do you think I can realize it?

  • Hello

I live in Italy in Tuscany near the sea.

I was only recently that I use construct 2, after a long experience with game makers and other engine.

For several years I have been interested in programming; I'm currently working on a racing game drive and a survival game. I hope to accomplish both with construct 2.

I apologize in advance for my English.
