    Agree.

i already moved on to unity + playmaker

but i also track scirra for the new engine and i hope it will not disappoint me

  • Looks very intersting! Will try it a bit later.

Can I ask you how you acheive so many installs and reviews? Maybe some tips and tricks from you? Thanks!

P.S.: Can`t see your screenshots here...

    hi

do you see screenshots now ?

at first i released it with lite version and in persian language (in iranian store)

now i release full version and in english and persian language

  • paradine - please, link me to every example of CPU-bottlenecked games you can find. I want to investigate them but am so far unaware of most of them. I assure you I do not intend to ignore them, but with hundreds of posts made to the forum every day it's very easy to miss posts.

I am also skeptical of polls for features in general. We did feature polls that showed the vast majority of users out of hundreds of voters said they wanted multiplayer. I was concerned that even with C2 doing much of the heavily lifting and hard work, networking is still a difficult subject to work with in general, so it would probably still be hard to use. Even when I specifically described how it would likely be difficult to use, still people voted for it in huge numbers. Then when we released it, very few people actually used it. As far as I can tell it's because... it's a difficult subject to work with in general!

To me this proves large numbers of users will vote for features based purely on hype. They imagine that everything will be perfect and brilliant and there will be no shortcomings or tradeoffs and it will be super effective and easy to use. Of course reality rarely ever lives up to that.

So I don't really care if a million people vote for native exporters. I regularly see that people blame HTML5 for performance issues when really it's a hardware bottleneck. I can see that people think "just make a native exporter, it's not that hard right?", whereas I can see it's a colossal project with severe ongoing impact on the product development. So even if everyone voted for it, I am not persuaded they have a proper understanding of what they are voting for, as happened with the multiplayer polls.

when we say make a native exporter we actually mean change the whole engine (you have to change it for native exports)

and also i didn't know you dont care about your users

    thanks for that !

    and also see this :

    Ashley

intel XDK and crosswalk 11 - it runs 40-45 fps on my mobile device.

The newest Intel XDK and the newest Crosswalk - it runs 45-46 fps on my mobile device.

Native APK - it runs 57-58 fps on my mobile device.

  • Other 2D game making softwares (with native exporters) can make nice performance mobile games easily. They have a lot of such mobile game examples:

Construct 2 was released in 2011. There are a lot of users. But how many mobile games were released.? Any nice performance mobile game was released?

    non

even airscape don't have good performance ! it's just so laggy !

    i made this game in 1 week and i spend more than 2 weeks to optimize it <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy">

    and still...well see it yourself... <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" title="Rolling Eyes">

  • your lucky your app have a sound !

  • And why are you the one to decide that change is required ?

The other tools generally suck at their potential with rapid development, where as Construct still tops it all ...

Why is it not time for you to switch to unity ? seeing as you are quite enthusiastic about it

    i like c2 more

and really c2 is fast and i just say need better performance

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads

A business is not that simple. Scirra aimed for a gap on the market and made a very good software to fill it up: HTML5 game creation environment with visual programming. In my opinion it's fine to give suggestions for Scirra to let them see what the community wants, but at the end it's up to their will and opportunities how they manage their business.

es 2 years ago yes there was a gap 2d html5 was a gap but

unity have 2d and html5 now

and there are other engines too so it's time to change

  • You can use unity with playmaker

which is so good and big

but its a little different from c2 so you need tutorials

But there is uscript which is another plugin and it's more difficult but more like c2

  • I won't see any performance benefit if the game is fillrate limited on a weak Intel GPU! Again, as I said before, hardware limits don't change even if you change the technology you use. It seems that most people don't understand this?

hardware limits don't change but game performance is changing !

make one simple game with unity and make that exact game in construct 2 and run it on same device you will see hardware is not so limit as you think !

my note 2 have a great hardware it can run even GTA with no lag (it can run supper high quality games) i mean even big games need less memory then c2 simple games need on android

but when it comes to c2 games it laggy even in simple games

you just can use c# instead of javascript for engine

then you can compile that c# to almost anything (its hard but can be done)

i know how to program and i can use unity or... and i will use them

but your c2 is a great software it can make billions you just not so serious about it

so i suggest you hire people and programmers to develop it and spend some money

i will promise you will get so much more then now

html5 still too young and i think its need more than 2 years to be like a native app

  • my simple game get 300 mb ram on mobile and in construct it just show 30mb

let me tell you guys something if you didn't make games with unity dont say it developer or not so different

make one of your games with unity and dont optimize it

then you can see you mostly dont need optimize your games in unity

ashley just bring excuse because he can not make an engine like unity

thats a true and c3 just an another editor which make you guys buy c2 again !! (one time licence became two time licence !)

i made games with unity and construct 2

in construct 2 you can make games fast but you get slow when you want to debug it and optimize it and i spent 2 day to solve intel xdk problem with musics !!!! it's even not my fault !

this is my unity game :

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... .turbotire

and this is my first game with unity (2 yers ago)

i first made this game with construct 2 and really had a bad performance so i just change my engine and everything worked fine !

  • I really think some people have the impression that if we write a native exporter, hardware specs will magically increase.

Ashley please just make one game with unity and then you see native performance is really different and so much better !
