Hi there!
I’m a bit of a noob at Construct 2.
No, let’s put it this way: I’m a COMPLETE noob at Construct 2!
Despite this fact, I thought I’d share one little trick I’ve used in my projects.
Maybe there have already been tutorials on this, although I haven’t seen them yet and maybe there are other ways of doing this, but I always find it efficient to keep track of things you have done and things you still have to do.
Of course you can always keep track of ‘todo-things’ in a separate Word- or Notepadfile, but I think it’s much more efficient to keep things in one place.
What I do when I’m working on projects is create one Event Sheet called ‘Remarks’. In this event sheet I add a bunch of comments and make three ‘chapters’.
Chapter 1: GAME IDEAS
Chapter 2: TODO
Chapter 3: EDITS
Under chapter 1, GAME IDEAS, I put stuff that comes into my mind while working on the project. Stuff that I don’t want to work on right away. Maybe because I’m working on some other level, maybe because I still have to do some research on how to implement things of maybe for some other reason(s).
Actually, all those things that come to mind when driving to work or lying in bed ;-)
Under chapter 2, TODO, I put stuff that doesn’t work as it’s supposed to work. Things that need editing.
Whenever one of these items is ‘solved’ I put 3 asterisks at the beginning and 3 at the end of the line. I don’t delete them.
Under chapter 3, EDITS, I put stuff that has been edited so you can always revert to things if your project at some point ‘behaves’ different than before. I also include the date of the edits.
I hope some of you find this information useful. If not, sorry for your time
Please feel free to edit this tutorial or to come up with other ideas!
Happy Constructing!
