I threw this together this afternoon in response to a forum thread about top down vertical car game problems.
The .capx file contains a small working example of a top down vertical driving game where the player drives side to side avoiding other cars on the roadway. If the player collides with another car it will crash him and then re-spawn. Rinse and repeat.
If your not familiar, the style is similar to the awesome 1983 Spy Hunter arcade game:
Maybe it will help some new players wrap their heads around creative hodgepodge and give others a building block to expand it into a fun project of their own. Its free to use for whatever purpose, I had fun throwing it together.
EDIT: I added a new .capx with some VERY basic old school NES Road Fighter style behavior (even added the oil slick and pot hole). Bear in mind this is just ONE example of how you can make Construct2 do things. I am sure there are much better and cleaner ways to do what I have done. These .capx are to get new users thinking around their problems. If you are an advanced user PLEASE reply with cleaner or better options for future use.
(disclaimer) I have never been a super programmer and although I can muddle my way through coding, it doesn't come easily. I am a creative thinker however and Construct2 allows people like me to pencil whip games together to our hearts content. Our way may not always be the best or most efficient but its a heck of a lot of fun.
