Notes

It's a new stable release of Construct! If you're updating from the last stable release r302, then this update includes changes from r303, r304, r305, r306 and r307. Highlights include:

⭐ The Timeline Bar now supports auto-keyframing

⭐ Drawing Canvas has a new fixed resolution mode

⭐ Functions now have a new copy picked option

⭐ Exported projects can now use the WebP image format which is around 30% smaller than PNG for lossless images and better quality than JPEG for lossy images

⭐ Android exports have been updated to support Android 12. This includes support for the new splash screen style, using a new Android splash icon purpose to set the Android splash image, which should follow the Android design guidelines.

⭐ Shadow Light's rendering of soft shadows has been improved

⭐ There are loads of new APIs to use with scripting

⭐ Many other additions, changes, improvements and fixes!

Please note as of this release all features specific to the desktop download of Construct (via NW.js) have been removed. Please switch to using Construct in the browser. Try the Install as app option for an app-like experience.

  • I'm having an issue since quite recently (think it started r305-r307) where if I load a saved state of my deckbuilder app, the hierarchy does not respect the set locations for child objects in a hierarchy, but rather places everything at the origin of the parent object with the load of the save. Hoped the complex hierachies fix was related but didn't do it. Hopefully that one gets fixed soon too. Loading same save file twice in row for some reason fixes the issue.

    Also very happy with the copy picked addition thought, extremely helpful!

  • I'm not sure in which release it was added, but auto reload scripts from folder when starting preview IS SO NICE. I mean, i already got used to pressing F9, i literally pressed it a millions times already, so it's a reflex for me, but anyway surely it wasn't convinient, especially for new users, so THANKS <3
