This is a single chapter from the "Construct Starter Kit" Collection and Student Workbook from this Workshop.
This 188-page workbook is designed for game development using both Construct 2 and Construct 3. It is also available from Amazon and the author's publication site. This is the "Student's Workbook" edition from the Workshop Instruction package. The ISBN for the hardback version is 9798363832925.
In this workbook, I will guide you in creating various styles of "Collapsing Block" and "flood-fill" game mechanics. We will use these mechanics, along with display techniques and development methods, to construct an integrated game prototype throughout the workshop. By the end of this workbook, you will have a fully functional "Collapsing Block" game (with "flood-fill") — not just a copy of my game, but your very own product, created using your licensed artwork assets. Additionally, there is a supporting website included with this workbook, from which you can download all the student bonus content referenced in your purchase.
The Instructor Workshop edition — sold separately — includes lecture presentation materials and an Instructor's Guide. Instructors can earn commissions for each student book and online course access sold from their workshops. The online course features dynamically graded quizzes, examinations, and certification for student attendees. This package is ideal for after-school computer club projects!
You will also receive bonus content, downloads, examples, and event sheet references demonstrating everything in this workbook. You can easily "copy and paste" these examples into your game projects and modify them to suit your needs. General Game Licenses are included in this book, allowing you to deploy my demonstration game as either a Construct 2 or Construct 3 version.

There was a game genre review and overall settings for this game genre. Then a unique chapter on game and project design. It was so flexible that I've decided to 're-evaluate how I develop games. Then the book - 190 some odd pages!! - had a dedicated section just for Construct2 and another dedicated to Construct 3! I liked this because I can`t afford an annual SUBSCRIPTION(!) since I'm struggling to show a profit. Then the book concludes with a positive note to remain with Construct. There are a series of additional appendices on a variety of topics. The one I liked most was the OLOO. I learned more about Javascript than anything I've ever read. You should consider buying this while on this reduced price.
