  • Wow! Thanks guys for the support! I wasn't expecting these good feedbacks! This is exciting and motivating, I'll do my best to improve even more 8-Bit 'em Up and I hope I can release a public version soon.

  • Thanks guys!

I hope I can write a tutorial in the future. I want to explain some concepts about beat 'em ups in C2 to share my the experience I've acquired developing this game.

  • Hey guys!

I'd like to show you my solo project. I'm trying to develop a 2D sidescroller beat 'em up with some platform elements.

Right now this prototype is really basic, I just have a few animations, the controls, Button Buffers and the combo system working. The enemy doesn't have any kind of movement or IA yet. I'm using the Nes palette for the sprites, but I'm not committed with the real rules and restrictions of that console, thus, the sprites have more than 4 colors and so on.

I'm facing some real challanges since I don't have a background in computer science. Dealing with families and instances are also a real pain (not sure if it's due to the C2 limitations or my lack of experience with logic and programming).

I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish this game because I'm working alone, but I really intend to! I'd like to publish it on Ouya as well, because I want to play this on my TV!

I hope you guys like it and please leave me some feedbacks!

And if you don't like, just know that Andore is a grat friend of mine, I can ask him to beat you up on any Metro City's alley!(Just kidding =P)

P.S.: The music was composed by my friend Guifrog, however the music and SFX are placeholders.

  • I have my game submitted and waiting for review on the app store, and on the samsung store in device testing.

Apple takes an average of 8 days to review, and mine has been there for almost 7 days now.

I used cocoonJS, and a macbook pro to compile and upload.

Google play is giving us issues as we are based in South Africa, and they don't support paid apps here.

Nice! Please tell us when your game is on appStore. I'm also interested in using C2 to develop my game for iOS devices but I'm not confident about what is possible to achieve with C2.

I was using AppMobi but after a lot of time spent trying to solve sound issues, I gave up and now I'm using CocoonJs. Until now things are running just fine, however I don't know what will happen when the game is getting its shape, because for now I just have a simple prototype with very few assets and just simple touch inputs.

Even if I can finish my game, I'm not sure what will happen then. I have no idea about how to integrate Game center, I don't know how to update the game after its on appStore, I don't know how to store user data such as score and game progress nor do I know what happens to these datas after an update(Please notice that I'm not a programmer).

It would be nice to see a post mortem of your project superkew! I'm eager to see more games on appStore made with C2!

  • Hi!

My name is Zzimo. I'm a game designer and I love Construct Classic and Construct 2. I'm really happy to see that it is possible to export for mobile devices and now I'm working on a personal project for iOS.

    That's all folks! =D
