  • Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for.

  • How would I mirror a sprite object with Horizontal Sine Behavior when it's X position begin's to increase in the other direction?

Essentially when it's X position starts increasing in any capacity, I want the sprite to face right.

When it begins decreasing In any capacity, I want it Face Left.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • Turns out that if i tweak some things in the Nvidia Control panel to gear towards C2 and Nwjs, they will Run almost perfectly. Heres the problem, if i unplug the Power Adapter from my laptop it will go right back to good ol' 2 fps. Plug it back in and immediately its running smooth 60 again. Any Idea what this is about?

  • I'd like to know what the most leading causes of lag are. Any info would be appreciated. Also when i preview a game through nw.js, the loading times are tremendously long. i can feel my self losing a lot of patience while i wait. Do slow downs have anything to do with the computer's graphical capabilities? I just got a new computer with a Geforce GTX 850m and was hoping the lag i was experiencing with my last computer would be gone. This isn't the case though :/

  • what do you mean? The link to the .capx is there ^^

When i read the directions on how to post a .capx, google drive is an option. So that is what i decided to go with. I created a shareable link and posted the link on my topic.

  • Problem Description

Ive been working on construct 2 for a little under a year now and i've just recently encountered this problem. I saved my .capx the night before school and saved it to my google drive so i could download it to my school computer and work on it during class (after i was done with my assignments of course). So the next day i download the .capx from my google drive and then open the .capx file on my school computer. As soon as i try to open it up, a prompt pops up that states, "Unable to open [file directory] for unzipping." My project does not open and i have no idea what that means. The only option the prompt gives me is a button that says "ok". So I press that. It still doesn't open my project. The same issue just repeats everytime i try to open the .capx file.

My .capx project is 34,228 KB in size and i would really hate to lose it. I have an older version of my project that i am able to open but i would really hate to revert back to that file because my most recent file has about 2 weeks worth of work done on it that isn't on my previous version

    Attach a Capx

Here is the capx that has the problem ive been having: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-5Wj ... TZqTmp2R0U

    Description of Capx

When the .capx is opened, it sends a prompt to my screen telling me "Unable to open [file directory] for unzipping."

Because i cant even access anything in the .capx, there is no way for me to remove any events or layouts.

    Steps to Reproduce Bug

    • Step 1 Just open the .capx
    • Step 2
    • Step 3

    Observed Result

I can't access my project in any way that i know of because of this issue.

    Expected Result

The project should just open and give me the editor, but it doesn't even do that much :'(

  • Does lag in construct 2 reflect the amount of objects in a layout, or how big the layout is? is it just my computer?

I see games like "The Next Penelope" having so much animation and so many active objects on screen at once and it all appears to run super smooth. I have no where near as much detail as that game(at least I don't think so). But whenever I export my platformer game through nw.js, it always seems to lag quite a bit, making it hard to time jumps and such. I love adding pieces of art to put more depth into my game and would really hate it if I had to remove much of it. (all of the pixel art is mine and mine alone except for the occasional red spring and boost pad.) Is it the amount of layers that causes the problem? I'm fairly new using construct 2, so when I try to look up discussions on the forums regarding lag, a lot of the things I read don't make much sense to me mainly because I don't understand their terminology. Despite this I'm really trying my best and want to know if anybody has tips or knowledge to share about lag and keeping your game running smooth. I'm making a platformer with classic sonic style physics. I'm not quite comfortable giving out a .capx file yet but in the mean time I have videos I recorded with bandicam that should help demonstrate how badly it lags in my nw.exe.

    [I use pixelmonkey's SonicPhysics Behavior add-on]

    -My game on nw.exe: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-5Wjs ... sp=sharing

(^^^this video accurately shows the real-time lag when playing my nw.exe file on my computer)

-My game in MS edge on the same computer: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-5Wjs ... sp=sharing

(^^^Ms edge runs my game so smoothly compared to chrome and other browsers it actually pisses me off)

  • Problem Description

I'm new to construct 2. I am trying to create an RPG style game that replicates the gameplay of the Final Fanatasy games on the Super Nintendo. My project is pretty early in the works and is nowhere near complete. PROBLEM: when walking into a specific room(Downstairs), my player comes across areas in the room where he just stops as if walking into a wall when clearly there is nothing there that is solid. I check the layout and all the layers and I cant find any object that could or should be obstructing my path like this. I only have 4 objects in this whole layout. Please help I'm very confused.
