  • A core mechanic in the i'm working on is the controller. I want to be able to transform the character when the controller is disconnected. This part works just fine.

In order for the player to get into the mechanics of the game i want him/her to start the game with only connecting it, since that's how it works throughout the rest of the game.

  • I'm working on a game where i need to connect an Xbox controller in order to perform an action, IE. i want to work around having to press a button.

However, it appears i need to press a button before it recognizes that "Has Gamepads" is active the first time i start the game.

Does anyone know a workaround for this ?

(( one idéa i had was simulating a button press on start of layout, but there are apparently no gamepad actions. ))

    Thanks in advance!

  • Yes, before you ask, i've checked the forums. But I couldn't find what i was looking for. If you've got a topic you would like to direct me to, then feel free to do so.

As my title vaguely describes, i'm in need of some assistance on a game mechanic. I want to be able to copy certain objects within a 3 x 3 isometric grid and paste them elsewhere.

    Example (without the copyable items):

I'm not quite sure how this could be achieved but my guess would be using arrays to store the temporary values. But what about when i want to paste them somewhere else ?

Is this even the best way to reach what i'm trying to accomplish ?

If you need some further explaining; go ahead and ask.

(i hope i covered the essentials)

    Thanks in advance!

  • I also dislike going through steam, specially after i got game maker studio. So i didn't get it and am waiting for a sale here, directly from scirra instead.

  • I can't thank you enough. Not only for answering so fast but for actually updating the plugin in like 1 day.

It definitely fixed the transition issue. Here is the updated game :) dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/38894376/C2%20PLANETS/index.html

The only thing i've noticed is that it's a bit choppy, but i'm pretty sure that because it has to handle rotating objects at the same time, hahah.

  • Hey guys. I've got a question.

When i transition to a moving object, how do i keep it centered without having to set an active camera after the transition? (it gets all choppy)

When i transition to the moon, it goes away after a while since it's in orbit around the earth. <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />
