Would help if you could recreate the issue in a simple .capx so we can all test it and either conform or not the issue you outline.

I know that Ashley will definitely require it or he won't be able to investigate properly.

I haven't really noticed anything amiss with the latest build yet, although that isn't to say there won't be

  • Why would you want to?

If the account is redundant or spelt wrong or no longer used, then just ignore it.

Otherwise, post in Website Issues, and Tom will then see it.

  • Try Construct 3

  • The .capx also has a reference to rex video as well as calljs. You might only use calljs, but the non-standard video plugin is still part of your project. so may be influencing it in some way (although I doubt it).

I just tried it from Dropbox(https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34306693/exportedIHJ/index.html), and I don't really get any messages either. The list just doesn't display, but this could be because the buttons only display (becomes visible) on successfully retrieving data from your site, which I doubt I can properly test.

I also tested the demo .capx that comes with CallJS (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34306693/Cjstest/index.html)and it works fine, so the calljs plugin does work with firefox.

Hopefully, someone with more experience with this plugin will help you, as it does appear to be a problem with the plugin and firefox.

  • Uses non-standard plugins, so can't test .capx.

What errors are shown in the browser console?

  • Tom

Can the above madness be prevented!?

  • If one of the C2 examples works, then it implies that your implementation is sonehow in error.

Maybe just try to recreate a very simple .capx and test. If it doesn't work, then upload for us to test.

The usual problem with sounds is to do with encoding, See the following post response from Ashley:

  • Never heard or seen this before others may have though.

It would have been better to post the .capx, as well as more info about your system and C2 version. That way, we may have had a better understanding of the issue, and could possibly have provided a remedy.

I never mentioned the version (!?).

You have posted an example file from Construct 2 in the wrong area of the forum. This section is for the now unsupported and old Construct Classic, which was the precursor to Construct 2.

You should be posting this example, and any other Construct 2 related posts in the Construct 2 section.

  • I understand that I have to upload them to my own space....

Why not just add as an attachment?

  • drymetal

You've posted this in the wrong section. This is for Construct Classic.

Hopefully a mod will notice and move it.

    Thanks for that.

We know Tom has an arcade update planned, so maybe the changes you recommend could be implemented then.

  • jBug

Are you talking about THIS game that's in the Arcade?

If so, then this can't be classed as a bug in the C2 engine, as this game is over 2 years old and the new C2 codebase has changed significantly.

Yann may need to update his .capx to incorporate changes.

  • jBug

I only ever use firefox and I haven't come across such an issue. That's why a .capx is essential, to see if the problem is the C2 generated code or just a problem with your event structure.

  • The difference between the guy that buys a $10,000 online marketing course, and the guy that pirates it. The guy that buys it makes sure he completes the course, applies it. He wants to get his 10,000 investment back. The guy that pirates it, lets it gather dust on one of a zillion full harddrives.

    So true.

  • The manual, as well as numerous other posts, give the many reasons why you can't run the exported html locally.

You must host the exported files either on your own webserver or ones such as Dropbox.
