No other forum I visit has this amount of spam.
I give up on reporting.
Seriously, just fix the forum.
Depends on how many choices and how the text is stored. If it's just a few words, then simply do something like:
On clicked - Text Set Text to choose("Hello", "Goodbye","Booyah!","etc")
Pretty sure that the steam license and one bought from this site are totally different and not interchangeable. Using search brought these responses from Ashley:

TL:DR
If you purchase a license from steam, then steam handle all the authorization and licensing issues. If you purchase from this site, then you get a redeem code and the license is a physical key file.
Supposedly you are not allowed to post links when a new user, but the SPAM bots/users are managing to post whatever they wish, so there is something very broken with this forum that needs fixing first.
As I don't have steam, I'm quoting from DUTOIT POST HERE: https://www.scirra.com/forum/how-do-i-get-span-class-posthilit-beta-span-on-span-class-posthilit_p698309?#p698309
[quote:1odpk9hw]You just need to opt in for the betas through steam.
Steam - Settings - look bottom beta participation.
Select.
Downside is you will be using a beta steam version. But you can then select other program betas via there own properties
C2 - properties - betas - select "Beta - Construct 2 beta updates"
Have you tried testing for keycode?
i.e.
On Keycode 20 Pressed ------------------- Do action
It's not blurry at all for me in either the editor or when running the project. This leads me to think the problem lies with your graphic card driver.
Probably best to email Scirra directly regarding licensing issues.
Scirra has no control over whether Steam give a discount or not.
*** Update ***
Have been informed by Alspal that:
[quote:2afd6x5x]Developers can now set their own dates for sales/discounts, if they desire to do so.
Have you altered the accessibility options or changed the Appearance and Personalization options?
My eyesight isn't perfect and I altered one of these settings once that seemed to break quite a few things, including browser displays.
That's exactly how a Tiled Background is meant to look, dependent on original image (https://www.scirra.com/manual/118/tiled-background).
The Tiled Background object will repeat the original image to whatever dimensions you tell it to, so if your original image is only 200 by 200, then you will obviously see a repeating pattern for such a large Layout size.
The trick is to choose a background that doesn't have such an obvious repeatable pattern. I only ever use either a single colour or a gradient when using Tiled Background for a background.

Conversely, a reason for not using it is it is very, very broken in certain areas, such as using 'or' and 'else', and large projects tend to crash a lot.
Save your project as a single file(,capx) and attach to your post. It's impossible to say what the problem is otherwise. It could be anything, such as from it on a hidden layer. But without seeing what you've done, it will be difficult to help.
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
There are other equally as good tutorials that include graphics, such as https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/243/building-a-platform-game-a-beginners-guide.
If you want to continue with Ashley's tutorial, just use any graphics as place holders. The event system and the basic mechanics are what's important when learning.
Which file?
If you are referring to the graphics used for the tutorial, then as described, they are part of the larger bundle when you purchase a license.
