Yes as the path finding is still searched in google as 1st result and is a major issue with nodes in HTML5

    Carbincopy

So you're saying you did post here deliberately.

But Construct Classic has no relevance to HTML 5 so posting here is pointless, other than creating more work for mods having to check the post.

Ok! My racing game scirra.com/arcade/racing-games/lamboracing-4313 uses path finding to move the AI car around the track.

Which acts just like NODES with out writing all the points.

    On start of layout

    find path sprite 1,

on path found move along path,

On arrive and car is overlapping sprite 1, find path to sprite 2,

on path found move along path,

on arrive and car is overlapping sprite 2, find path to sprite 3,

on path found move along path.

on arrive and car is overlapping sprite 3, find path to sprite 1,

on path found move along path.

which completes the loop and the AI just keeps driving around the track.

Are you sure you meant to post this in a 5 year old thread for software that is now retired, i.e. Construct Classic?

  • The information on filesizes and memory use has been extensively written about by Ashley in numerous posts and blogs. It takes very little effort to find them.

A useful start would be THIS blog from Ashley.

  • So I'm making the game where you basically climb up through platforms and the higher you go the darker it gets. Once the player goes to space I could make it completely dark and use small images, but I really want the starting look really nice and to do so I need to use huge sizes like 9000x3000 which makes the game lag. Any tips ?

Considering an image that size would use up approx. 108MB RAM I'd suggest not using something that size. Also, few GPUs would be able to render such a texture size.

Have you tried splitting it up into smaller chunks?

  • BUMP:

So I think that I need to make it so that when A (Left) is pressed, D(Right) cannot be pressed? Anyone knows how to disable a key while another key is going on perhaps?

Please don't bump your own post after only 3 hours.

The users who generally try to help come from varying timezones, so a little patience is necessary.

It is acceptable to bump if you haven't had a response after a day or so.

  • Hello! I'm new to Construct 2 so I dont know everything about this product. My question is:

With the PERSONAL License could I export, publish and put ADs on my Android game( so I could monetize)? Or I need to buy the personal license and then buy some export modules later (Like Game Maker Studio)?

    Thanks for the attention guys

The Personal License allows you to monetize anyway you choose, with one proviso - that when you reach $5000 dollars, you would need to upgrade to the Business License.

    See Licensing for further information.

You need to follow the Bug Reporting Requirements which means you need to include a minimal .capx and precise steps in order to replicate the bug.

Without these, this report will be closed automatically by Ashley.

  • Well, using search I've found suggestions as far back as 2012.

Maybe a formal [REQUEST] may be advisable in the C2 General section, just in case.

  • Don't post your main .capx - recreate a simple .capx that just highlights the problem you want help with.

Anything you post is obviously your own responsibilty.

You could even just post screenshots or hand-drawn sketches: anything that may help others to help you more effectively.

  • You can change the colour scheme for all Groups, but not individually.

IIRC this may be on an Ashley todo list somewhere.

  • You should have enough to post a link as text, and very soon (500 rep) you will have enough for normal links.

  • > I would suggest, jamiek, that you attach a .capx to your post with precise instructions of what is needed/what isn't working, so that a swift resolution can be obtained.

    >

    > This number of posts shouldn't really be necessary to get the answer you need, which is why a .capx is always the best option.

    >

I don't know how to do that

To save a .capx file, click "Save as single file" in the File menu.

If you need a host, put it on a free Dropbox, OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive), Google Drive or any other free hosting service, but preferably one that doesn't make you wait or bombard you with adverts.

Post the publicly accessible link in your post.

    > Are you guys just bumping up your post stats?

nearly got 500 rep though lol

    Sorry, not seeing the humour.

As Ashley has already mentioned in one of your threads, if he suspects anyone of posting just to get rep, they will be banned, and all rep lost.

A mod doesn't just sit back and wait for someone to report something - every post is checked.

So if someone starts posting garbage just to get rep, it can become very tiresome, very quickly.
