  • I am trying to preview my project with C2 version r223 but i am getting the following error message, and do not seem to be able to come up with a reason why or a fix?

"Unable to launch browser 'NW.js' for preview. Please ensure the latest version of this browser is installed on this computer. Alternatively, change the 'Preview browser' setting in project properties to another browser."

I have tryed on 3-4 different browsers and keep getting the same message, I do not seem to need any updates to my browsers either

Would be really grateful for some help with this

    Thanks

Have you downloaded and installed the latest NW.js build from below?

Latest version is v0.13.0 beta 7.

  • Hello, I'm having to make a Pac-Man clone for an assignment at my school. I have pretty much everything worked out the way I'd like except for the ghosts' movement. The only problem with their movement that I know of is that with the way I have it set up, sometimes when they collide with the maze they are supposed to choose a new direction and sometimes will choose the same direction they were already going and phase through the maze if that makes any sense. If anyone could help me out with this in any way I'd greatly appreciate it as I'm almost done with it.

Edit: I just realized I can't post URLs so it'll take a moment but I'll try to write out what the problem is and see if I can make it understabdable

Maybe the following tutorial could help you out:

    https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/308/cloning-the-classics-pacman

Also, it's possible to bypass the url posting restriction by simply inserting characters into the url, or missing off the http:// part, e.g.

    http*://*www.mysite.com/mygame.capx
    [/code:2u5uaqjc]
  • Sorry xenox, already i updated my construct 2 version and got same error.

    here is capx link http://bit.ly/1plU2uu

This .capx is using r216 which is too old.

Please update and submit with an up to date version, at least r221.

Also, as per the Bug Reporting Requirements, only submit a minimal .capx that just highlights the problem. This .capx has far too many events and so is impossible to rule out an error in your events.

Your post needs amending to fulfil the requirements.

You can post a valid link to your .capx by inserting characters into your url, for instance

    htt*ps://*www.mysite.com/mygame.capx[/code:1aqnxgeu].

Also, ensure you are using an up to date version of C2. Release 216 is too old a version to use to report a potential bug for.
  • How are you suppose to use this when you cannot import s3m files into C2..

You don't import them as audio. Just import as a file.

Have you looked at the example?

  • * moved as not relevant to 'How Do I' section. More appropriate for Game discussion section.

  • * moved, as the Arcade is a Website issue.

The arcade is still in beta AFAIA ( Tom ?) so if there are issues you've found, posting them here for Tom to see is the best option.

  • * moved to a more appropriate section.

  • It sounds like you want a 'typewriter' type of effect.

If you search on the forums.you should find examples.

I also want to write a plain text file. I need that the project can continuously store new data. I created a kind of database with a TXT file. Since not exist in Construct2 some that can be manipulated such as a MySQL database. But I don't know writing in my text file "data.txt"...

Did you intend to post this in a 4 year old dead thread for a retired piece of software (Construct Classic)?

  • As long as users remain polite and don't troll or slag each other off, then free, opinionated discussion is always acceptable.

I'm absolutely certain Ashley and the Scirra team would agree.

  • I'm making a quiz/puzzle game where, to answer the question, the player types into the text box. This worked perfectly on the first level, however, after creating the second question when the player inputted the right answer nothing happened. I used the exact same code and only changed it to accompany the name of the text box. What did I do wrong?

Without seeing either a screenshot of your events or a .capx it's impossible to say.

  • By definition, a moderator's main role is to 'moderate' the forum - checking posts, reports, moving posts/topics, emails, requests etc.

Helping others is always a good thing but sometimes time just isn't available.

As an example, it takes me approx 1-2 hours to check everything in the morning, dependent upon number of posts over night. Then I have to give way to actual 'real life' stuff

  • * moved to a more appropriate discussion group.

  • * moved. This is a website issue.

Just tried it in Firefox 44.0.2 and it works fine.
