  • Never!

  • Thanks everyone!

Yep, my old licence still counts! That's great!

...but my exported games are still not working. Now they just show a black screen-no link. I also tried this: File; New; Template : Platformer ; and then export straight away. Same same. Black screen. Any thoughts?

  • huh! Neato... I'll check it out tonight!

  • I know, it's a steal. But it'll be the third time I've bought the same piece of software. I just want to show a project to somebody. I don't need mobile or desktop. (I tried desktop, and it said this option is unavailable. which makes me think that I might be just doing something wrong with my export for HTML-5. In which case, buying it again- and I will, sooner or later- won't fix the issue.)

  • Hi,

When I try to export, I just get a black screen with a 'make your own games with Construct2 the HTML game creator'.

    What's up?

My old computer was slain by an elf.

I'm using the trial version of C2, for now.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • ah- I see. I need to instruct the .capx to request full screen. I'll try again in a few days.

  • Hi all.

This still isn't working for me.

    <center>

    <iframe height="680" width="940" src="http://www.cleclic.com/wp-content/uploads/Weblynth/index.html" allowfullscreen></iframe></center>

If I omit the height width parameters, game plays as a tiny size in the middle of the screen. With them included, the game is playable but not scalling to fit screen.

    Can someone provide an example?

  • Thank you. It'll be a few more days before I can try any of this out (I'm travelling to another country)

But those sound like good ideas to a problem I've been avoiding for ages.

  • Thank you very much,

    I'll try that!

  • Hi All,

Would anyone be interested in releasing a compilation of C2 games?

I'm sure there of the thousands of .capx documents out there, we could put something together that would be greater than the sum of it's parts.

Anyone interested in discussing some of the problems, solutions, and possibilities of this?

I also invite y'all to post a link to a game/fragment you've made, along with your thoughts on how you would enter/exit this part of the game, narrative-wise. (Eg- oh, so the player's unicorn is in a spaceship now, eh? Well..."Enemy ship approaching.")

  • Thank you for your reply.

That sounds good- but I don't know how to integrate that solution with my current set up.

I'm happy to start again- but could you elaborate a little more?

  • Hi,

I see from other forum questions & tutorials that there are multiple ways of doing this, and that this is a core C2 skill.

But I haven't been able to make it happen yet.

I'm making a simple language game.

    Example of play:

The player sees a picture of a duck and 2 words: 'Cat' and 'Duck'.

When he clicks on the word that matches the picture, a new picture appears (let's say, a house), with 2 new words 'House' and 'Telephone'.

What's the easiest way to stop correctly answered questions from repeating?

  • Thanks WizLore

    Thanks Ashley!

    I'll try that next time.

  • Ah... to my shame and horror; I think the answer is in the manual. Testing now. Sorry.

  • Hi.

Construct's fullscreen in browser/letterboxing works great when I'm testing my game.

But to upload it to my (wordpress) site, I have to embed it in an iframe. iframes have fixed height x width parameters; so no scaling.

    Is there another way?

(I'm trying the various wordpress plugins for 'responsive' iframes- but nothing yet. They all seem to be designed for holding videos, maybe that's why.)
