  • Sent you an email Tom.

  • I never receive them either.

  • AHA! HURRAY! Did you guys make a change today?

I have just downloaded the latest r89 build at my full download speed whereas just 3 days ago when I downloaded r88 I had the slow download speed.

I am in Greece by the way.

I hope whatever you did fixed the speed for everyone.

  • Thanks Kyatric for another great month summary.

  • I personally use a family instance variable to specify the type within a family just like Yann mentioned and that works fine.

  • ...Hmm. My advice is to ignore my advice.

    Good one <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Wow, this thread should be stickied for providing all these great resources.

Thanks everyone for sharing the links ;)

  • I got constant 59-60 FPS through out.

But yes, it is a high spec PC. (i7 / 6GB RAM)

  • I second that, for something made in such a short time it is really great.

Most impressive is the art really. The use of lighting creates a very nice ambiance. And the character animation is very good BTW.

The controls IMHO do need a bit of work: Character "sticks" too much to the walls I think.

Great stuff though and worth expanding on ;)

  • Hmmm, "maybe you have error-message blindness, like a lot of people who just click away errors without reading them?" >> You are right.

I think my eyes completely skipped the 1 important keyword "... change the 'Preview browser' setting in project properties to another browser."

I spent all my time instinctively tinkering with C2's browser settings.

Will have to read error messages with more focus next time.

Thanks Ashley and sorry about the needless intervention.

  • I am using r86 (latest beta ATM)

I have noticed that if you open a project where the browser was set different to default and the system does not have that specific browser installed, construct2 gives an error message about the missing browser BUT does not show you the preview of the project (Kind of a dead end and a joy killer!)

Where as it should give the error message and then continue to show the preview with the default browser available on the system.

Minor issue but had me scratching my head for an hour since I didn't know that you could set a specific browser in the project properties.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I didn't think I should open a new thread about this since it is directly related:

EDIT: Oops, I have just realized that this forum section will not be checked for answers so I am creating a new thread in the bugs section.

  • I am in Greece.

But note that I have an online server in the US and I download from it at full speed so it shouldn't be something on my side.

And as TELLES0808 said using a download accelerator does not increase the down speeds as if more connections could not be made to scirra server.

I think torrenting could be a great way to distribute new builds but I don't know how worried you are about pirating.

  • Ah, well, maybe in that case a little notation could be used to give a hint that an addition was made. Like [Add-r86-12.04.12] or something.

I guess that would even help regular users take note that something new have been added/changed in the manual and could be worth having a look.

    I guess you can tell by now that I like reading manuals <img src="smileys/smiley23.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Worked very nicely on win7 64.

No lag at all but system is high specs.

    Very promising stuff ;)
