  • Hey SecondDimension - I don't think your other steam apps can be the problem... I only have C2 running on steam on this machine right now.

And no... it doesn't work, only shows me a black screen. This must be due to the fact that the file c2runtime.js doesn't exist, but there ist this c2runtime_tmp.js, just looks like something went wrong on compiling/exporting.

As mentioned before yesterday I was somehow lucky and could do a clean export. the c2runtime.js only has a filesize of 87 KB, but the c2runtime_tmp.js exported today with absolutely no change to the project comes out at 305 KB.

I've uploaded both so maybe some dev can read inside these files... hopefully.

    >> c2runtime.js VS. c2runtime_tmp.js<<

The big difference really is the fact that C2 doesn't crash at all on my machine.

I'll do the updates now and write right after I've don them here again.

  • I've come to some similar messages yesterday.

Construct 2 Personal r119 via Steam in use here.

I also run a Vista 32-bit machine with SP1 and the graphics drivers with version number 310.70 from 01.01.2013. There is a newer SP and also a newer graphics driver with version 314.07 from 18.02.2013 available. Will update my system later and report results.

    System:

    Intel Core2 Duo T6400

3 GB RAM / 32 bit Vista Home Premium

nVidia GeForce G105M Cuda 512 MB

Just checked my Direct X... Version 10, will update this one also.

When exporting to HTML5 i get the message that pngout.exe has stopped working (popup appears two times)

After clicking them away Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working appears, also this one can only be clicked away by the button "close program"

Then a message titled HTML5 exporter says: Error during export: Cannot open file 'C:\Users\Aspire4937G\Desktop\New project\c2runtime_min.js'

    Only can click on OK.

Until this point the progress bar window for Exporting project is running in the background.

But then it says that the project has been exportet successfully and asks me if i want to go back to project or open the export folder.

C2 doesn't crash on my machine.

I just saw, that there was a c2runtime_tmp.js in it, think it shouldn't be.

Differs a bit to your version.

    ---

Tried it again with no PNG-compression:

First error is a java.exe - error in application

aplication couldn't be initialized properly (0xc0000005).

    Now the same as before.

Then a message titled HTML5 exporter says: Error during export: Cannot open file 'C:\Users\Aspire4937G\Desktop\New project\c2runtime_min.js'

    Only can click on OK.

Until this point the progress bar window for Exporting project is running in the background.

    successfully exported... no crash

    ---

    Third attempt:

Exporting and turning PNG compression to Standard (recommended setting) as in first try.

A dos-box pops up writing fast some lines, disappears and then Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working appears.

Then a message titled HTML5 exporter says: Error during export: Cannot open file 'C:\Users\Aspire4937G\Desktop\New project\c2runtime_min.js'

    successfully exported ... no crash

    ---

Fourth attempt (no changes in settings):

Black DOS-BOX with path to C:\Program Files\steam\steamapps\common\Construct2\Construct2-Win32\exporters\html5\tools\pngout\pn showing in title of box appears and the two messages saying pngout.exe has stopped working are there again.

Closing the first of them makes another dos-box popping u and writing some lines and then disappears.

Closing the second one just closes the initially popped up dos-box but with no process.

Then Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working appears.

Then a message titled HTML5 exporter says: Error during export: Cannot open file 'C:\Users\Aspire4937G\Desktop\New project\c2runtime_min.js'

    successfully exported ... no crash

    ---

somehow i could achieve a working export yesterday, but i don't know how

Weird... will update the system and have another look at it then

  • Hi everyone. I just think it is about time to present my current project here. Surely some of you can rembmber Magic Carpet from Bullfrog Productions that was initially released in 1994 on PC.

I loved that one so much, and thats why I am doing a mobile version of the game for Android and hopefully also for Windows Phone OS.

It is not a port, but more a game in the same setting with the most importants aspects of the game being in it. It is not a 3D-game like the original, but will be played in side view. There will be spells, there will be mana, there will be your castle and your balloon. Oh, and a carpet riding hero for sure. :-)

The character will improve his magic skills through the mission based campaign which will be told in an unique story.

Right now I am still at the stage of doing the character animations, for every spell.

You can check out some of the progress here:

    >>ViZiONEER FB-Page<<

This one shows some basic character animations:

    >>Character Animations<<

I hope there are some people out there interested in this kind of game.

Progress will be posted here and also on the FB-page. Don't expect this one to be finished soon, I am doing everything on my own and time is always short. I hope to be able to provide some ingame material by the end of the month.

Feel free to post any thoughts, questions, advices on it.

  • These should give some insight ;-)

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/152345347/reallifescirra.JPG" border="0" />

  • What improvements of the game mechanics, sounds, music, font-issue, spelling issues, etc. can be expected?

There was no update on the "beta" version of the game, so I just couldn't review it yet.

  • Same here... I can't remember that I've been asked to enter my birthday at all. Now it looks like the date of registration was filled in. No way to change it.

  • thehen: Angry Mango seems a bit like a sidekick to Rovios Angry Birds-Series and the Mango-Update for WP7-devices... So it fitted the situation referring to the time Mush was released. Or maybe you just love fruits. :-)

Kobusvdwalt: Maybe you have something like a mascot or any other "thing" you really like. So you could use this as a name giver. A pet maybe? Or something your emotions are positive related to. Ok, Tombstone Softworks sounds ok on the one hand, but on the other it may have a bit of a negative taste. It also depends on the presentation of the company itself, so the corporate design should suit your teams attitude. Creating something like "Plants vs. Zombies" would be a good match, but don't release educational games under this brand.

  • Ok then. Votet at work right now.

Will do one more from my work phone Lumia 800 - <font color=green>done</font>

Will do one more from my wife's private Ativ S - <font color=green>done</font>

Will do one over WiFi in shopping mall here - my son voted <font color=green>done</font>

Will do one over WiFi hotspot at work here - my other son voted <font color=green>done</font>

These should give you some boost I hope. :-)

Each running with its own i-net-connection for sure.

I prefer sticking to the competition rules... GOOD LUCK!

  • Done for sure. Good luck on the award.

I am just not sure if my vote really counts, since I have no account at Pocket Gamer and when I strike F5 i can vote again, and again, and again... Just wondering.

  • Awesomeness is in the air!!!

  • The "Export/Import event sheet"-function is still on ash's to-do-list i assume.

  • adagar: There is some on his profile -> scirra.com/users/danielshunter

  • You're welcome. Just keep me up to date and I'll try to give you constructive support.

Another little issue are some spelling errors. You'll have a look on your App description and ingame texts, I am sure, but If you need some help on fixing those errors just let me know. (^_^)

  • Had my hands on now on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 running Android 4.0.4

I really like the overall design with that toony ships and asteroids, the ship moves smooth and it is really challenging not to run out of health in the FreeFly level.

The Timer mission is an easy one, but I also rate it good for a level one difficulty. I just don't get an idea for what that rectangle above the ship is good for and what the "c" stat in the lower left corner stands for, sorry.

In FreeFly it is fullscren as standard, in Timer Mode about a quarter of the right display is left untouched. Same goes for the menu.

After you launch the game you can choose between play and help. When you enter the play screen you never can switch back to the initial screen, I'll recommend to place a "back" or "main menu" button inside the game mode selection. Just like the one inside the level selection screens.

Sound and music is on a lower priority at the moment I guess, so no review on that part by now.

Really liked to play some rounds.

  • I'll hava an ingame look at it later, at work right now. From the screenshots I only see that there are different fonts used for the stats and they seem to be a bit wrong aligned.
