  • Actually, having another small issue with this. Again, sorry if I don't post a capx since I'm too advanced in the development of my prototype.

The issue is: Currently the origin point of the grab_ledge animation is set at the center bottom of the sprite and then during climb_ledge animation I switch it to the top of the sprite. I'm having a small ghost frame in-between that seems to move down really fast and then go back to the position (top of the ledge). The frame moving weird seems to be grab_ledge one.

    Thanks in advance.

  • ekajuan, Yes, if you want to pause your game, create a variable that establishes that when the time scale is 0 (therefore game is paused), the group for the movements is disabled and then enabled back once the game is no longer paused.

  • UberLou

Looks fantastic. Love the artstyle and animations. Reminds me a bit ICO, Castlevania and Dark Souls. Hope to see more soon

    Cheers

  • Nevermind

Actually I completely forgot to check the origin point location. Thanks

  • Hi!

I've been having troubles for already 2 days trying to get the climb animation to work. Actually what happens is that the Player first goes up to the top of the tile (New X, Y position) so the animation is played not while climbing but instead on the new position. I'm sorry I cannot post a capx file since I'm quite advanced in my prototype. Hope the screenshots can be of any help.

    Thanks in advance!

  • I think it would be interesting to have Art Talk concerning how to approach art for games, and this would be great even for artists.

  • thanks and no problem.

  • Problem Description

I cannot seem to be able to switch the grid size back. Its presently stuck on my last settings. Usually I change it back and forth to place different objects so this is the first time that I have this problem. im presently using C2 r189 beta release.

I dont attach a cpx file since this seems to be related with the software. Please could anyone let me know?.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Im having the same problem. At the beginning I thought it was hardware related since I just bought a new machine. In the old machine the game was playing at 75FPS and now 60 but with a lot of jerkiness. When updating my video card drivers everything got fixed for a limited time. But now I still have the same problem.

  • Just out of curiosity, but why don't you use magicam plugin? I believe it does this type of camera transition. Not sure though.

  • sprite d light seems to render in object space instead of tangent space. I like the result so far, specially for the occlusion map.

If not, there's Knald that in my opinion is better than crazybump and also you can use XNormal.

  • I found it! Actually I didn't know that even if the sprite was in an invisible layer, it was still being considered like overlapping another object. So I simply moved the sprite and then each time I need to use it, its updated to its position.

I'm thinking about doing it with instances variables, checking up whether the sprite is now located in a Layer called deactivated or not.

    Thanks guys!

  • Hey guys, later today when Ill be at home Ill try to set up a capx file with the problem.

rekjl , the first event is the first image. when I press S, the sprite goes from the browser menu which is located in the top left of the screen down to the menu. actually I simply change from bActiveSlot to aActiveSlot. I tried using the same and simply changing the scale but with no results.

Ill post more images and capx file once Ill be at home. Thanks guys

  • rekjl , Tried that but with no luck

Also I forgot to mention that what I'm trying to accomplish is use WASD in a menu (I used Z to see where was the problem) which lead me to realize that when pressing S I was going back to the first event instead of running the second one.

  • You should be a little more clear about what you want. Do you mean an animation based type of movement?
