  • Hi rexrainbow

I liked the c2 plugin Move2, will you consider converting that to c3?

  • Hi Im Matt,

Ive been reading peoples intros in this Post, really cool!

When I was growing up I was fascinated with the SNES and a Mega Drive, and like a lot of us I loved Mario Bros and Sonic. Later I had an Amiga and tried making games with Shoot-em-up Construction Kit (that was a great program!)

Im a trained Animator and I am very nostalgic about the 8bit and 16bit era of games.

I have been working on 2 games in Construct. One of them is available on Scirra Arcade as a 2 Level demo. Check out this Link. Or check out the game card below (Comments are very welcome!)

I find Construct 2 to be the best game maker around, I love the Condition and Action Event sheets. Ive learnt a lot in the past year about the building blocks of game mechanics. My real passion is graphics and animation, but I need my games to work!

Here's a screenshot from my game Monster Bash

  • I usually come up with a character and decide what type of game genre that character might fit into. Where I have gone wrong is getting carried away with the graphics and levels! Then the game mechanics are an after-thought!

This is BAD! because it might look great but it doesnt play well.

Like making animation if the story sucks and the graphics look great the story still sucks! The hardest thing is keeping it simple. Simple ideas make addictive games!

Its a real trial and error process to start with. Keep plugging away though and something will stick! It helps if youre passionate about the game idea you have. I normally feel that way if I like my initial character. Game mechanics take the most time though, so be prepared!

    Looks tasty!

  • Good job, love the pixel art!

  • Amazing looking game!

  • I've noticed a simalar problem in my platformer (using Platform behaviour). When I press jump+Left together(cursor Up & cursor Left) and press the fire button (spacebar) a bullet doesn't spawn? It will work if I press Jump+Right and Fire though?

I got round the problem by moving my controls to the A W S D keys. It works fine with these keys. I would prefer to use the cursors though.
