  • I think the controls are a problem. I can understand how this would be simpler on mobile, but I keep getting it backwards. I've played snake games on mobile with better controls, either dpad or swiping in the direction you want to go.

  • Parking Space is a game about parking in spaces. Leaderboards will track how quickly you can park in all the spaces on the level, but be careful, colliding with anything means you lose.

You can play it at bit.ly / UziParkingSpace

It's pretty much a standard parking game. However, most parking games have terrible, terrible controls, so I spent quite a bit of time getting the controls "just right." The wheels turn smoothly, straighten gradually as you accelerate, you have a good deal of momentum, etc. Each car also handles differently, the hatchback is quick with a tight turning circle and the box truck is much more difficult to drive. The turning circle is actually calculated using the angle of the wheels and the wheelbase so it'll be more or less physically accurate in that respect. It doesn't just turn the car by some arbitrary rate. Long story short, it feels quite a bit better than most parking games out there.

The game as it stands now is not great, there's just one level and no scoring. In the coming week or so that will be expanded greatly, new cars will be added, including cars and trucks with trailers.

  • This can be closed, you guys did not read that the new NW.js versions require Construct 2 r217 or newer!!!

I see now. However, that could be a bit more up front, the only place it says this is in the "Older Version Downloads" section.

  • I'm also having the same problem. R216 64-bit from Steam, using the NW.js downloaded from the Scirra site, version 0.13.0 alpha 6.

  • This is Blasteroids, my first Construct 2 game.

I can't post links yet, but it's on the arcade if you search for it.

It's nothing groundbreaking as far as gameplay goes, it's just Asteroids. However, I'm trying some things to make fake pixel art, I think it went pretty well.

  • I loved pretty much everything about it... except the music. It's grating and repetitive, repeating the same melody over and over is a big no-no. It sounds fine (though I'd lower the main melody by an octave), nothing wrong with the chiptune style but it gets old so fast. I wasn't finished playing yet but I turned it off because I couldn't figure out how to turn off the music from inside the game, I found it in the menus though.

If you can't do or afford a soundtrack, for the main gameplay music it's sometimes a good idea to go with downtemp atonal ambient music. It's not hard to make and can be stretched out and looped without becoming obnoxious.

Also, the controller doesn't work on the menu.
