  • Looks like its going to be in iOS 11.

Nice little game you made there too matey .

Has anyone actually tried the mobile exporters in C3 now they're available? I just tried a simple game I had knocked up in C2 & the exported apk was only 2.6mb, unlike when i tried to build that same project with phonegap and the file size turned out to be 25.5mb! Nice.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Start Construct 3 in web view, then click 'Customise and Control Google Chrome' (top right corner) ---> More Tools ---> Add to Desktop

This will add a link to Construct 3 Chrome application.

As long as all exporters work as intended, then i'll be signing up for at least the 1st yr, i've got a few projects i'd like to retry on ios/android, hopefully the exported apk's aren't big for relatively small projects.

$99 works out at roughly £76 per year or just over £6 per month... i'm sure some people spend more on fast food on a weekly basis

When will the Cordova exporters be available to try on C3?

Before anyone jumps down my neck on the number of posts I have, I have been a member since 2013, I’m just not a big forum poster on most sites I have accounts with & I’ll admit that I have not used Construct 2 (or other engines) in some time, but looking to get back into it development.

Regardless of my thoughts on software subscriptions (not a fan), I have read quite a number of posts regarding this and other users complaints & must say that some people’s attitudes and posts are seriously taking the 'P', there really has been no need for some of the aggressive posts directed at the Scirra guys. I can empathise with people in regards to the subscription model, but I’m sure it wasn't an easy decision knowing the back lash that would occur on their forum.

As a small business, the guys need to find a cost effective way of improving their IP & if a subscription is what they have deemed best, then either accept it or move on, which has been said countless times, give the 1st year ago at least & see how it progresses.

I am mostly interested in the new Scirra hosted build service they announced & look forward to hearing people’s experiences with it for Android/iOS when C3 is officially released, thats the deal breaker for me.

  • Reading through the many posts I can understand the frustration that games may not be running smoothly when exported to mobile devices, I'm in the process of developing myself, but not at that stage yet.

Due to the way Construct works and provides users with a very simple way of game creation, I think a number of users abuse this and fail to optimise their product & a lot of the fault is their own. You can't really expect to create something & throw together numerous Hi Def sprites, god knows how many particle systems and physics going on, without testing, testing, testing and expect to work as you think it is supposed to in your mind.

I think a lot of users take for granted that they do not have to use/learn code in Construct 2, a coder will optimise, refine & sacrifice elements of a game to get the performance results they need on other platforms, where by it would appear by the numerous posts Construct 2 users seem to think they can get away without any of this?

There are always alternatives out there, so you could always learn to code and use an alternative engine, I’m no coder myself & unless I want to put the 10,000 hours in to become proficient, then Construct 2 allows me to experiment & potentially release my ideas.

  • Hey people,

After having a play round with Construct, decided it was a no-brainer on purchasing a personal license and having a go at developing my own game ideas.

Joined up for Yann & Kyatric's course so, hopefully will pickup some awesome tips from those guys.

See you's around & congrats to Ashley & Tom for making games possible for us non programmers.
