  • How much is the C2 discount? Is it just 1 year?

  • Oh gee ... the project stalled. The whole "engine" is pretty much done. Graphics being the main issue like all my other games

As for the shooting direction, that is done on purpose as the layouts will sometimes be side to side, vertical etc. Plus I wanted it more difficult

  • Do you recommend a versioning system that works well with C2?

This is not meant to be sarcastic, but it's called the Windows File System.

Copy and paste to another folder, HDD, external drive, etc.

I don't trust versioning systems. Just another "DB" that can get corrupted.

  • I've been working on about half a dozen different projects, but can't seem to ever finish anything. I was inspired today by RECREATE THE CLASSICS so I threw together one of favorite games of all time. It is TOUCH ONLY controls and I only have an iPad 2 to test with. You might be able to get it working using keyboard and mouse clicks. Regardless, I'm a bit reluctant to post, but perhaps by posting this it will encourage me to continue on.

  • Far too many to pick from, but the first 3 that came to mind were:

    Zelda (NES)

    SF2 (SNES)

    NHL Hockey (Genesis)

  • Like those old arcade games where once you advanced forward you couldn't go back?

My first thought was to just keep moving the location of an invisible solid object....

Something I missed in the manual?

  • I modified my player and put in a 24 frame animation.

It only had 3 or 4 before.

When I jump now, it doesn't always jump. It seems random when it works and when it doesn't.

If I disable the animation it jumps every time.

    Thoughts?

    Using Simulate Jump

  • So on my platformer, my player is standing off the edge of a ledge. If he is more than 50% off the edge I want him to start sliding such that he will eventually fall off ... right now if even his "tippy toe" is there he stays level.

    Any thoughts?

  • Thanks that makes sense ... had a bit of a brain lock.

  • If that makes sense.

I want to change my floors from a flat surface to a 3d-lego style block such that when the player is on the tile, he actually appears to overlap the top part of it.

This might be a poor example, but say consider the wooden platform here is a tile, and the character is running/standing in the "middle" of it.

A sample or something would be great, I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

  • Will give it a shot and report back!

  • At least on Unix machines there was a game called Hunt .. it was multiplayer, but it run on text terminals (no need to have real computer for each player)

I just googled that ... if that wasn't the game it was essentially a clone of it. Huge fun at the time ... seemed to drive our teacher nuts, but yet she never deleted it off the systems.

  • There is a message to call them back. I don't have anything remotely ready for release yet. What did you guys do? I'm a bit scared....

  • Atari 2600, 600xl ... C64 ...yup.

I have no idea what it was called, but in highschool the computers in our Typing class had some network game on it. You moved Ascii characters around an arena with random walls and tried to shoot the other players. I can't remember what it was called, and I can't quite remember if it as Apple or PC, all I remember is they had dual-floppy disk drives.

Probably the main reason I spend all my spare time playing CoD and BF today.

  • I missed the sale price! Please put on a promotion again!
